I stayed here with my husband. We visit Antigua several times a year and try out different hotels and b&b's in Antigua and most of the time are at least ok with the variety of experiences. This was hands down the absolute worst. The room was large but bed mattresses still covered in plastic although they clearly were not new. TV was at least 20 years old and so small up in the corner it was hard to see from the bed. There was no internet even though I asked for password three times and was give three different passwords. The TV did not have a remote but when I asked (twice) I was handed a random one that was not programed to the specific tv in this room. The toilet had a wire loop to pull to flush and ran all night if it was not jiggled correctly. The breakfast was nothing to speak of. Very limited and same plates of cold eggs lined up to drop on a table. Service was definitely not like the beautiful hapy people of Antigua. Not a smile or friendly person in the place. We asked for our money to be refunded as we decided to check out 24 hours early. It was a weekend where rooms were hard to find so I am sure they could have rented our room. After asking we were told to return in the morning to speak with the manager. When we did, the manager was not available. We asked if we could call him but were told they did not have his phone number. The rates were $86 per night. It was a $30 per night type of cheap hotel. I hope . people read this review and strongly recommend not staying here. There are too many reasonable hotels with great service and...
Read moreThe location of this hotel was good, but that's the only positive thing to say about it. The staff at the reception was not friendly. All the rooms are located around a patio. This made it impossible to open the windows of our room, unless you wanted the other guests to walk into your room. Because we couldn't open a window in our room, the room was very dark and felt very humid. When you took a shower, it took a day for the bathroom to dry. The furniture in the room looked like it came straight from my grandmother's house. During our stay, the hotel was full of big and noisy tourist groups. All the groups met at the patio from the hotel, which is really noisy for all the rooms that are located around this patio... The first night, we were woken up at 6am by a group. The second night, there was a group at 3am and a group at 5am. The breakfast was also really cheap. Just an egg with a toast and some coffee or thee. No other options. I wouldn't...
Read moreThis hotel has put pictures online which do not represent today's current rooms/accomodations. I had booked two nights at this hotel, worse experience I've ever had while visiting Antigua. Complained to front desk, couldnt get them to understand as english isnt recognized. Rooms had no ventilation, no fans, no ceiling fans and it was hot and humid inside the room, and impossible to sleep comfortable at night. Hotel provided two small towels for bathroom, nothing more. Bathroom fixtures (shower towel) was removed, Soap and shampoo were the smallest sample ive ever experienced in a hotel. This hotel has not updated anything since it opened 40 years ago. Me and my traveling friend were totally disappointed and we have requested a full refund...
