We were excited to eat there until we saw the menu, but gave it a chance either way. We had take out. It seemed like it would be high quality (considering the price and the way everything looked inside) and we trusted their word that each sushi would be big.
Unfortunately, they made a mistake with my order which was so simple. I ordered 2 Makis of different kinds but they gave me the same one, spicy salmon for both.
Someone else we were with ordered 2 Makis too and had the one with Salmon on top, but it wasn't that tasty, very average.
Mine were pretty good, rice is great, but the salmon is so small. Disappointing, because the price is 120 GTQ per Maki, which includes 8 very small rolls. See photo where we compare it with a 25 centavos coin. The menu has 2 types of Makis, one is a hand roll (the large one you hold in your hand like a cone) for 70 GTQ (again, overpriced for just 1), and the Maki normal rolls.
We saw someone order the Nigiri platter, 240 GTQ for 8 - very overpriced and small. Shocking. Should have included 20 Nigiri for that price.
Thus, small, average or good flavor depending on the Maki, and for 120 GTQ each Maki (8 rolls). Compare that with another sushi shop very near where they give bigger Makis (also 8 and almost twice the size), more salmon, for 40 GTQ less. Or another in the city that has 2x1 deals for 70 GTQ and tastes better.
The music was so annoyingly loud in there, like many restaurants in Guatemala (bad habit). You can hardly hear each other and the staff. Good thing it was take out, but we still had to wait about 30 minutes for our order even though they said 20 and hardly had anyone in there (and they didn't give me what I ordered). Just 2 persons eating, then another 2 came after us, that's all. In other sushi places, it is faster and they have 5 to 10 times the amount of people. They were many in the kitchen so I didn't understand the delay and the mistake.
Not recommended. Should have read the 1 star review before wasting 240 GTQ on rice and a tiny bit of salmon.
How to improve: Don't be greedy. Lower your prices by 50 GTQ each Maki, especially since your pieces are so small and you hardly put any salmon. Yes, even your Nigiri by 120 and other menus. Lower the music. Be better than the rest. Build a website. Put your number online. Though, not sure you could hear us over the phone considering your music's volume. Easy to make a mistake with loud music. Upload your...
Read moreHorrible ubereats experience!! My order never arrived, the person out for delivery never knocked my door or rang my doorbell I never had an issue with uber eats before see the other restaurant I ordered from!! I got charged and paid tip for an order that never arrived. Scammers!!
UPDATE: so apparently it was Uber eats fault and not the restaurant, the restaurant was diligent not to charge me but I left them money anyways because I have a business myself and I know what it’s like. I went back another time and I really enjoyed the food, service and everything. Thank you so much for trying to make it right!! That’s great service
The reason I decided to leave a four out of five was considering all factors the price is a bit too expensive for the portions and the to go packaging is not good and makes you wonder why you paid so much. And their ubereats wasn't a good experience (never received my order) had to go...
Read moreIt’s pricey, but I’d say it’s the best sushi in Antigua. I embarrassed myself by going back thinking I was overcharged ($25 usd for 2 shrimp nigiri orders and a shot of sake)… you’re paying for quality, though. And the waitress I talked to was so sweet and sent me home with a fortune cookie (that probably says, “Double check the menu prices, chica.”) 🤦♀️🫶🏻 🍣 Oh, I should also say that the pickled ginger...
