Chose this restaurant due to the high review rating. Staying in Budapest for 1 night and decided to dine here. I ordered the bone marrow appetizer and the Argentin steak, done rare, that is supposedly aged for 60 days. As a side, I ordered the potatoes with skin, in lemon and butter.
The bone marrow was fatty, oily, and bland. The most flavorful part of that dish was the garnish.
The steak was relatively tender inside, done rare, but the cut had fatty and tough sections that were stringy. This was a poor cut. It was lacking in flavor and a bit over salted. The side was plain french fries, with no hint of lemon.
I travel all over the world for work and have a chance to explore all kinds of cuisine. This dish was pretty pathetic. The meal was not worth what they charge. I've made better steak at home and had far better and more flavorful steaks in common restaurants in Canada and the US.
This restaurant apparently prides itself in quality meals, as someone who has experience with cattle and cooking, this was a disappointment. I suggest you reassess your dishes and revise your selection of ingredients and how you prepare them.
As a reply to the restaurant's comment, you shouldn't sell or serve food that's poor quality and you should teach your staff to tell customers if something isn't good. I shouldn't have to ask if what is on your menu is "right to eat". If it isn't,...

By far the best food we had in Budapest!
Easy to phone and make a reservation, we had a table for 4 for dinner. The service was friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations for food and beverages.
Seriously, not a bad bite of food was had. We ordered 3 steaks, all cooked PERFECTLY. 2 of us had the Brazilian tenderloin and 1 had the Argentinian rib-eye. We had a variety of sauces, all very fresh and enhanced the steaks so well - the gravy, the green peppercorn and the chimichurri. We chose three different sides which we shared and again they were all delightful, the sweet chilli corn, the garlic spinach with tomatoes and for me the true standout - the mashed potato with pumpkin seeds. I could have had a gigantic bowl of just the mashed potato.
We also ordered one cheese burger which has to be up there for one of the best burgers my father has ever eaten, worldwide. The onion jam was delicious and enhanced the flavours of the burger so well. It was juicy and fresh.
The beers were cold, the negroni was absolutely fabulous, and the wines we had were fantastic and paired beautifully with our food.
I really cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, I hope you come and visit it if you're visiting Budapest or if you're lucky enough to live here!

Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Beef&Bone in Budapest, and it was an experience worth every star. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with an elegant touch that set the stage for an exceptional meal.
The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the Argentine ribeye and the Brazilian tenderloin—both absolute must-tries. The Argentine ribeye was grilled to perfection, boasting a rich marbling that melted in the mouth with every bite. It was seasoned expertly, letting the natural flavors shine through without overpowering the meat.
Equally impressive was the Brazilian tenderloin. It was tender, succulent, and full of deep, savory flavor that left me savoring every forkful. Paired with their thoughtfully curated sides and a fine selection of wines, the entire meal was nothing short of outstanding.
The service was attentive and knowledgeable, providing insightful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Beef&Bone has truly mastered the art of delivering top-notch cuisine with impeccable service. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough for anyone looking for a memorable steakhouse experience...
