China Restaurant Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Budapest

I come here very often as my company is based at Bazilika. The opening times on the door say that they open at 11, online it says different, but open sign is on, and the door is locked at 11:48… Shame… no information given, nobody in there… The chef is not always the same, sometimes it’s delicious, other times it’s watery and tasteless, and the rice noodles are always the worst, not even edible. The side cabbages are literally always grey and old, or many times there is non at all… Some of my colleges ended up with awful digestive problems because they ate here.. Many times the amount I pay depends on the cashier, sometimes I get a discount without having the menu ordered, sometimes I pay the same amount for the small portion as the big one.. Thos reataurant cannot be trusted at all! The worst chinese restaurant in the area, all of as go to the one at Arany Janos utca M (Bajcsy Zsilinszky ut), very tasty, very fresh, cheaper, and always...

We ordered three dishes. A tomato and egg soup, the tomato was not cooked fully. A seafood hot pot, in the menu picture showing prawns, scallops, and fish, we ended up getting one with one small octopus head around 15 millimeters in diameter and two pieces of 10 millimeters of seafood stick, with off tasting bean curd. Pork spare ribs cooked in soy sauce from the menu, and ended up getting a dish that looked and tasted completely different and soaked in brown starch liquid. I talked to the owner, for the seafood he agreed it was a bit short of seafood and in regards to the pork dish, he said the chef is not up to scratch. It is shameful that they get away with passing their menus as Chinese food to western people. Their business would not survive in China or any country with a higher...

The food was fresh and was actually pretty good. The woman serving was also very pleasant. Knocked off the stars because of the HUGE stack of dishes with food sitting near the register. Definitely didn’t feel very clean. Empty bottles also kept out front.

Also, the server used microwaves to heat all the food. Definitely not super classy. But, again, the food itself WAS good. Very likely there are better Chinese food restaurants around but this isn’t the worst I’ve ever had.

Kudos to the woman working when we went because she didn’t stop. If she wasn’t dishing up for someone, she was cleaning a table (just not the dishes).
