I was near Budapest station when I got a craving for Vietnamese dessert. I looked up the maps and found out, there's a restaurant 20 min by walk. I didn't have much time before my train, but the cravings were so strong I literally ran there. To my huge sadness, they didn't have the Rainbow sweet soup, but the waiter was extremely nice and offered to me other options. I was super skeptical, but I wanted something similar and not so traditional so I picked Green cloud sweet soup, even though I dislike mushrooms! I wanted to take it as take away, because I was very short on time, and it wasn't a problem at all. They sat me down and they were extremely nice, also the interior is beautiful, however I had a lot of stuff and I decided to wait outside. The conclusion is that I didn't miss my train, and also that it was somehow a very strange experience, but it was super good. You'd probably never put such combinations together, but it worked. It was different, sweet but due to the ingredients not as a regular dessert. However I'm super happy it worked out like this, because I'd probably never had the courage to try it. I definitely recommend the restaurant and also the dessert, I hope I'll have an opportunity to come...
Read moreI am a returning customer at Ciao Saigon who is obsessed with their authentic Viet dishes. They have recently launched an additional menu, which prompts me to come try them out right away. The Com Tam is beyond wonderful, the egg terrine is rich in taste and goes perfectly with the home-made fish sauce. The pork chop is sooo soooo well-seasoned to the very point that it drives me insane. I highly recommend Com Tam!! My boyfriend ordered a Bun Thit Nuong (aka Grilled Pork with Rice Noodles) and complimented on the fresh and crispy spring rolls. The star of the show is for sure the Egg Coffee, this is my go-to order at Ciao Saigon which says a lot about the coffee itself. What’s more delightful than enjoying a hot cup of egg coffee on Christmas days?? The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, it feels like home whenever...
Read moreIf you want to have an authentic Vietnamese dishes in Budapest, this is the place!!! We came here for lunch when visiting Budapest, and came back the next day for dinner. I usually don’t go back to the same restaurant when traveling, but the food here was so delicious and authentic. Everything we ordered both times was really tasty and fresh. My favorite items were beef Pho, egg rolls (traditional way using rice paper wrapper), Vietnamese corn sweet soup (Che Bap), and caramel flan. My mom loved Banh Cuon, Banh Bot loc and Che Ba Mau while my dad loved Bun Bo Hue here. The star of the show was the Vietnamese Coffee Phin. Banh mi was really good as well. I just forgot to take photo of it. Service was phenomenal. Everyone was really sweet and friendly. You gotta come here and try it yourself. I highly recommend this...
