We had the absolute best time. The food was very original and delicious. The staff are really something special.
I saw a few mixed reviews just before which I just didn’t get. If you’re a plain Jane and want a basic b brekkie then go to Starbucks.
Greeted so very warmly this past Saturday morning by the owner David who has the banter of a British man mixed with Budapest charm. Very professional so welcoming really cares that you enjoy without being heavy going. Our waitress Nathalia is the epitome of the perfect blend professionalism with friendly. I’d literally love to be friends with her. She’s super knowledgeable about the foodie scene and just a really lovely person and really cares about hospitality. And it shows! We didn’t catch the baristas name who seemed super cool but boy oh boy can he make you a delicious pistachio lattes!!!!
I have uploaded the photos of what we took but honestly it was a tough choice as everything sounded excellent. And it was delicious. It honestly looked like we had been served spring on a plate and it tasted like that. Really original without any prétention. The goat cheese one reminded me a little of a chèvre chaud but also just a really lovely combination. Whatever some people thing is a mystery sauce inside the Deszka is clearly some type of roux and delicious the bread was kinda like a savoury French toast affair and really was not heavy. Really great sourdough was used so was light and yummy. My husband has now begged me to figure out what they did to recreate at home as he desperately wants it again and again. . The names are funny so we had to ofc try the poppyseed thing (actual name lol) and if you are a fan or poppyseed or naturally sweetened but not sugary sweet deserts as I am then you will really enjoy it. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever had and the yuzu wasn’t overpowering.
The location is super cute very quiet street with a very cool vibe but not pretentious hipsters just cool and local and lovely.
We will be back. Thanks team. Keep doing what you’re doing. Excited to see...

Never in any trip have I visited the same place twice - let alone 3 times (in a 4 day trip). But Deszka had us coming back for more and we will definitely return once we are in Budapest again.
We randomly walked in while looking for a breakfast place after a very early start of the day and flight, and despite our sleep deprivation, we were in the best mood we ever were on a work trip. The food was absolutely delicious and with bold flavors, the friendliest of owners and the cutest 4-legged host!
Starting our day in Deszka was like coming over to a friend's place for brunch - we felt at home and the music choices hit a nostalgia heart string.
Food-wise, we can just really about recommend everything on the menu. Their coffees are rather perfect flavor profile for the drinks, and their raspberry lemonade is a must drink-wise.
We had the Deszka toast, the Eggs Benedict, the Ciao Shroom, and the Gravlax Eggs Royal and the Poopy Seed Thing - all amazing and worthwhile to the point we can't even name the favorite. The G.O.A.T. seems to also be an absolute banger - sad that a food allergy stopped me from trying it (although I was close to risking an Epipen shot to do it...)
Mazli is the absolute star - he's the owners dog - and he will join you at your table since this is his restaurant too. By our last visit, he was truly warmed up and just simply joined us for breakfast as well.
And last, but definitely not least, David the Owner is also the star of the place! He made us feel welcomed every time, and giving us suggestions about the menu as well as the city.
All in all, I wish there was a special rating you could give a place just once so that you can show everyone how great a place truly is - and I'd give...
Read moreClose by Budapest's famous Great Market Hall and the iconic Freedom Bridge, Deszka Budapest is a cozy café radiating a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff here? Super friendly, helpful, and always wearing bright smiles that instantly lift your mood.
Let's talk about their star dish: the pumpkin spice Benedict. Imagine perfectly poached eggs sitting on scone bread with a hint of pumpkin spice and herb oil, all topped off with hollandaise sauce. Sounds delicious, right? But wait, there's more! This plate's like a colorful garden – cherry tomatoes, crunchy roasted pumpkin seeds, tangy pomegranate, fresh radish, and crispy Serrano ham join the party, creating a flavor explosion that's seriously addictive. I even asked for an additional slice of bread just to wipe clean my plate. 😋
And when it comes to drinks, they've got a great selection. I went for the Chai latte, and boy, was it a good choice! Its comforting aroma paired perfectly with the yummy food.
What sets Deszka Budapest apart isn't just the tasty food; it's the cozy vibes and the way they treat you like an old friend. For an experience that's not just about the food but also about feeling welcomed, Deszka Budapest is the place to be. Can't wait to go back for more...
