Elefánt Budapest — Restaurant in Budapest

We had an extraordinary dining experience at Elefánt Budapest. The traditional goulash soup was simply perfect, especially with the beautiful view over the Danube — and the prices are more than reasonable considering the prime location. We finished our meal with delicious desserts (panna cotta and tiramisu), which were the ideal sweet ending.

Our waiter Steven was the jewel of the restaurant. Not only did he provide excellent service, but he also engaged us in a wonderful conversation about Hungarian cuisine, gave us great tips about places to visit tailored to our interests, and impressed us with his fluent English and even German. His personal touch truly elevated our evening.

Pizza Elefant is a true highlight in Budapest. It’s the first place here where I experienced genuinely attentive service – friendly, English-speaking staff who even let us taste a few beers before making our choice.

We ordered two pizzas, and both were excellent: fluffy dough, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality, with authentic Italian products like flour and cold cuts being used.

The setting is another strong point: a beautiful view on the water, sun or shade, calm background music, and an overall relaxed atmosphere. Combined with the outstanding service – the best I’ve had in Budapest – this place really stands out.

We had dinner at Elefant by chance, while walking along the Danube. The place is very nice, the decor refined, with a splendid view of the theater and the Liberty Bridge. We had pizzas, lemonade, and tiramisu, and we had a wonderful time. The staff is great, and Amelia in particular served us throughout the evening and was wonderful, taking great care to ensure we lacked nothing. And as a bonus, she even spoke a few words of French!
