Franziska - Pest — Restaurant in Budapest

The food is designed for Instagram and I guess would look good on there and perhaps even be exciting for any friends who are really into looking at pictures of your Eggs Benedict on Instagram, but it wasn't very impressive in terms of taste. Especially at these prices. I know Hungary has really high food inflation right now, but I get the sense that restaurants jacked up prices when the Euro and Dollar were stronger and just kind of left them there. Which ok fine whatever, probably the Instagram Eggs Benedict crowds lining up outside can afford and even deserve a little greedflation, but when you're charging more or less the same amount for the Instgram Eggs Bendict as in other large European cities, you get judged by the same standards and by those we weren't really satisfied. The waiter was friendly though. He asked how the food was and when I said more or less the same thing as above he gave us some kind of sweet energy ball things for free. Very delicious food but long queue. So I suggest arriving before the rush hour.

We ordered smoothies and we have been told that it might take a while but we did not think that we would never get them. Once the food was finished they asked us if we still wanted our smoothies and even before, they did not offer any alternatives knowing that it will take over an hour to prepare a smoothie.

With each dish, you get a slice of bread (divided into two) so I asked for additional bread and got one more slice. Then I see that I am being charged 1 eur for 1 slice of bread which is not a good image for a beautiful brunch place like this.

Lastly, we did not even have time to swallow the last bite and they immediately took our plates away. I understand that there are other people waiting in line but we also waited around 40 mins just to get in and our orders were not even fully delivered before being deprived of our plates.

Overall, we were quite hyped for a full brunch experience but did not get it due to lack of ingredients (I guess) and overall noise level...

The food was very good but the service was one of the weirdest ever. After entering the place I I had the feeling that they don't want me there. Why? Are they chasing foreign tourists with high prices? Maybe. None of the waitresses could care for a smile they managed to remain ice cold. After finishing my breakfast the waitress picked up the plate but never asked whether I want something else. I waited like 10 minutes drinking my sparkling water. The staff was ignoring me, they were either occupied with each other (chatting) or serving other guests. Finally I waved to one and asked for an americano which was way too watery. When I asked for the bill the waitress took away my glass which was still half full and my bottle was not emply either. All together even though the food was good I do not want to return. By reading other reviews and seeing how they talk to other guests I understood that I'm not the only one who received this kind of...
