A great surprise for the Bangladeshi and Indian food lovers at Budapest!
I often have craving for Bangladeshi food (which is very rare and the closest you get is the Indian food which is different than Bangladeshi food) while traveling to different places. This time we found this gem in Budapest which is a newly opened restaurant taking its baby steps but with perfection towards becoming a great restaurant.
Now, let's talk about food. You will find all the popular Bangladeshi foods such as Beef tehari, Kacchi, Chicken Biriyani, Chicken roast, etc. along with some mouth watering starters and snacks such as Fuchka, Pakora, etc. You can also complement your biriyani with a glass of Borhani! On top of that they have desserts like Kheer and Gulan Jamoon which gives you the much required sweetness after having the meal. We ordered Beef biriyani, Kacchi and Roasted Chicken Masala (chicken roast), and fuchka and pakora as starters. Every item was delicious and felt like home. Also, all the food items are Halal. The price was very reasonable and the amount for each serving was perfect. The interior is also very pretty.
We highly recommend this restaurant to all the visiting Bangladeshis and also to the locals who would like to taste something different than the Indian foods and you will absolutely love it. The amicability of the hosts and their lovely behavior will make you feel home. If we visit Budapest again, we will surely pay our visit again.
A fun fact is that the restaurant is owned by a couple who are doing their PhDs and running this restaurant. You can simply imagine the effort they have to put to maintain a restaurant alongside their studies and research work....

The food at Deshi Dine was nothing short of amazing. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try their beef biriyani, garlic naan, and beef curry, and each dish was a delightful explosion of flavors. The beef biriyani was the highlight for me, so much so that I returned the next day specifically for it. The rice was perfectly cooked. It was an absolute treat for my taste buds.
One thing that stood out to me was the passion and love with which Apu and bhaiya, the chefs, prepared the dishes. I loved the fact that both are doing their PHD’s and still managing the restaurant so well.
In terms of service, I have no complaints. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure that all our needs were met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations when we needed them. The overall dining experience was pleasant, and I felt well taken care of throughout my visit.
If you're in Hungary and looking to indulge in authentic Bengali cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to Deshi Dine. You won't be...

I never had a chance nor the experience to dine in a Bengali Restaurant in the EU where they serves actual Bengali dishes, but my trip to Budapest left me with a lot to wonder. Hands down, the best Bengali cuisine in my list, at least there are no other Bengali Restaurants that I know of. Maybe there are but who cares?
About food: Although their menu has the influence of the Indian cuisine. However, they do have most of the specific and legit Bengali dishes, such as Biriyani’s, Bengali Yogurt, Fuchka, Prawn Curry, Prawn Pulao, Lentil Soup, Mishti(Gulab Jamun?) etc. Had chance to try the Gulab Jamun, but couldn’t finish more than half a bite, sweet tooth-ers haul yourselves here.
As for the atmosphere, the place is very serene with some authentic Bengali music going on around on a mellow volume. However, with some Hindi music from time to time.
I recommend this place to anyone who are into Asian food in general or if you’d like to try something new. I came out with a full tummy, that much I can say for myself. 🫠
Great experience, on my next trip to Budapest, I’ll come again. Just a few hundred miles away...
