I would like to highlight here for everyone to know that I visited Indigo Exprees In Nyugati Yesterday (13 sept 2025) and had a very very bad experience. We ordered Thali with the option of Butter Paneer being vegetarians and guess what, the staff plated Butter Chicken. Looking firstly we asked are you sure this is paneer, they said "Yes, it is what you ordered". We took the plate and started eating it. when we trying to cut the so called paneer, we were sure that it was chicken. I went to the counter with the plate and asked is this paneer or chicken again, and the same girl admitted that "Yes, it is Chicken". I was furious and when I asked her what happened few minutes back when we asked that whether it was Paneer or chicken. she said that the moment we took and plate she realised that she gave us chicken but even after realising she did not take any steps, She said I asked my staff to search for you and they could not find us. With only 5 Tables occupied and hardly someone may have ordered Thali like us, they were not able to find us. What a surprise, they cannot find us in 10-12 odd people. She said sorry Multiple times but did not take any effort to correct here mistake. Lastly she gave me another Veg Thali, but this is not acceptable and needs to be raised here.

NOTE: BEING FROM INDIA, WE HAVE THIS "PITRAPAKSH" GOING ON MANY NON-VEG EATING PEOPLE TOO PREFER VEG IN THESE 15 DAYS AND THE GIRL SERVING WAS ALSO FROM INDIA KNOWING ALL THE FACTS ABOUT THE 15 DAYS RITUAL.

This is really disappointing to make fun of the rituals and not feeling genuinly SORRY for what she did.

TO THE MANAGEMENT: Pls take care while employing the staff who do not take proper care and and make fun of the rituals. I will definitely think multiple times to go again to this...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this modern Indian street food place, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere that perfectly set the tone for the meal.

Ambiance: The decor is a perfect blend of contemporary design with traditional Indian elements. Bright colors, beautiful murals, and ambient lighting create a welcoming and lively environment. It feels like a little piece of India in the heart of the city.

Food: The menu offers an exciting variety of street food classics with a modern twist. I tried several dishes, and each one was a delightful explosion of flavors.

Service: The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They were more than happy to make recommendations and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. The food arrived quickly, and the presentation was impeccable.

Value: Considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, the prices were very reasonable. It’s a fantastic place for a casual meal with friends or a unique date night.

Overall: This modern Indian street food place has truly captured the essence of India’s vibrant street food scene and elevated it to a whole new level. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and explore more...

Outstanding !!

Made by Indians - Served by locals.

I am an Indian travelling in Europe for last 4 weeks , which made me homesick and made me miss mum.

But Indigo Express came to rescue.

Proud of them for pushing Indian cuisine from traditional Indian neighbourhoods to right in the face on ground floor at a mall - quick service , without compromising flavour.

It's trendy, it's hip....you away to teh beats while you savour your dal makhani and the decor is chic 90s pop...making it truly adaptive for the people of Budapest but retaining the flavour....that's what we need.

It's not for Indians who are travelling essentially, but created with an aim to serve authentic Indian food to local people ...which I simply love.

Coming to price....an average Indian restaurant charges 15 eur for a main curry dish + 8 eur for 2 Butter naan- making it 20 eur ball park.

Indigo Express gives a full fledged thali ..which is difficult to finish in 8 - 10 eur...which is amaaazing.

And..wait for it...they serve Chai....not the Chai latte..not the dip dip early grey tea...but authentic Indian...

We went to the newly opened Indigo Express in Nyugati with great anticipation today. We have eaten in the Hercegprímás Street Indigo Express multiple times already, so we had an expectation of the taste and quality of the food. We have ordered butter paneer, daal makhani, pav bhaji and paratha. The butter panner was the most disappointing-as someone else also shared in Hungarian- it tasted more like a Hungarian tomato soup served in the school canteens, the gravy full of sugar, and very few paneer cubes which were very hard. The daal was also very soup like, missing basically any Indian spice, rather tasting like a bowl of boiled lentils. The pav bhaji was cold and also missing Indian spices, it was rather a mash of vegetables. The bread was no fluffy at all. I am not sure what is the reason for being cautious with the spices, Budapest has so many other great tasting Indian restaurants, there is no need for Indigo Express to 'Europeanize' the food, and miss all Indian spices. For us it was a huge disappointment. The staff was nice, however the AC not working so well, and it was quite hot.

Fast food style Indian restaurant in downtown Budapest, where I recommend getting the Thali menu. My favorite are Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala. They are served with rice, Indian bread, salad, potatoes and lentils. Really good value for money (3500Ft for a filling meal). However considering that it’s a fast food place, the waiting time is quite long (15-20 mins or more) and unfortunately the food served is cold. The dishes taste good but don’t expect authentic Indian flavors, it’s not spicy at all and I’d say they offer a westernized version of traditional Indian cuisine. Keep in mind, don’t add chili oil to increase spice level (Chinese chili oil doesn’t go well with Indian food, and theirs isn’t even chili oil just oil, tastes horrible). Nevertheless it’s a good place for “quick” lunch or casual dinner. Hopefully in the future they will improve and stop serving cold food.🍛
