Authentic Flavor at the Hungarian Bistro
I had the pleasure of late lunch at the Hungarian Bistro and indulging in their mouthwatering beef stew with dumplings. As I took my first bite, I was immediately transported to the streets of Budapest by the rich, hearty flavors that filled my mouth.
The beef stew was cooked to perfection, with tender chunks of meat that practically melted in my mouth. The savory broth was infused with a blend of traditional Hungarian spices that created a depth of flavor unlike anything I had ever tasted before.
The star of the dish, however, was the dumplings. Light and fluffy, they soaked up the delicious broth, adding a perfect textural contrast to the tender beef. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more in the near future.
The staff was super friendly. We made jokes and had some good laughs. Her name is Dodo. Lovely lady. And the other girl that I didn’t get her name (sorry my darling). Great staff. Highly recommend this spot. It’s situated on the side streets. Quiet area near the basilica.
Overall, my experience at the Hungarian Bistro was nothing short of exceptional. The beef stew with dumplings was a true culinary masterpiece, showcasing the authentic flavors of Hungarian cuisine. I highly recommend this dish to anyone looking to embark on a flavorful journey to Hungary right here in...
Read moreWhat a massive disappointment for such a location. The food was the worst part. The starters were not great but edible. The wiener schnitzel was paper thin, dry, almost inedible. The ratatouille had a severe lack of sausage. The pork medallions had a lack of medallions, my plate was full of potatoes which I ended up leaving as I ran out of meat to go with them. The dessert in a place called "mákos guba", you would expect that they could make their signature dish but it was the worst I have ever tasted. They hadn't even soaked the bread so it was a dry, disgusting, inedible mess. We'd had to wait over 30 minutes for it so it was clear that the chef had forgotten about it and then tried to salvage things by throwing something together. The staff were trying their best but were clearly inexperienced and struggling as there was only 2 of them. We were sitting near the entrance to the kitchen and judging by how much food was getting sent back, other tables were...
Read moreThe food was good but strongly recommend to visitors to pay attention to their personal belongings as they may disappear mysteriously. My bag was stolen from the table inside the restaurant and found in the near park thanks to the iPhone locator. Nothing was missing which was the strangest thing. Only the wallet was emptied and all documents were out. Thus, we didn’t call the police immediately. However I decided to warn the authorities in both my country of residence and also in Budapest. Very unpleasant experience. We contacted the management of the restaurant to ask them to check cameras and prevent other guests from similar experience. No response for more...
