I will be very truthful about my thoughts about this restaurant. At first glance the sign/logo to Prime to me belongs in Vegas. It doesn’t shout sleek or high end. The decor is outdated and tacky. They have tried to do something fancy with all the gold but it’s comes off cheap. The wood to me is the wrong type and colour and the black chandeliers do not give a smooth sleek look. If feels as though someone grabbed anything and everything to fill up this restaurant. We were sat at our table and ask what we would like to drink. My husband wanted a glass of wine and I, a Coke Zero. The sommelier was sent over immediately (I started to think I’ve judged to quickly and the service is looking good) wine was chosen and poured within 1 -2 minutes. 10-15 minutes have passed I’m still waiting on the coke ! I had to remind them of my drink. Then our waiter comes over for me two main questions from a high end restaurant that should be standard are - do you have any allergies and do you have any questions about the menu? . None of that here! just hey what would you like? We ordered our food and now with the steaks - I would say fillet minions were delicious . T-bone - we have had better but still a good t-bone. Also sides really good and very flavourful. After our food we are kept waiting 10 minutes just for a dessert menu. What’s brought over is a platter of all the deserts they do that they rush through to tell you what they are, no explaining they don’t have a menu but that’s how they present it. I’m sure they think they are being cool or new aged but just bring a menu !! I want to know allergies gluten etc !!! I couldn’t understand any of the desserts to be honest so declined and I wasn’t even asked if I wanted coffee. We got our very expensive bill and left. For me I would say do not waste your time going here, it may have been something special when the decor matched the time it was open but not anymore. Wish I had...
Read moreTo celebrate our stay in Budapest we wanted to grant ourself a nice evening. We ended up the the prime steak and wine restaurant near the basilica. We had not reserved but still got a nice and private table. The service was very friendly and attentive and guided us to our seats. The steak selection is huge so you can choose what suites you best. We decided to have an Argentinian Black Angus filet mignon in medium well. A side dish and a sauce is also included in the order where you can pick one out of 18 side dishes and choose one out of several sauces. We had the oven baked potatoes and the casserole. The steak took several minutes to arrive but that’s sure just since it is done freshly. Still we were guided into the evening with two small starter dishes. A small bread loaf with butter and liver paste and a beef tartar with a grissini stick. Both tasted wonderful and were given on the house. The wine selection is also large. We had the Sauvignon Blanc which had a very soft but fruitful taste, a water bottle and an ice tea. The steak itself was just heavenly. It was super soft and medium well just how we wanted it to be. The meat was very tasty so they didn’t need to use lots of spices to make this dish excellent. The side dish also didn’t disappoint! The potatoes (oven baked and the casserole) tasted delicious and had the perfect consistency. Even though we had not planned to have a dessert we decided to have a brownie after the waiter brought a big plate with lots of dessert dishes to show us what they look like. All in all the restaurant has a five star service and five star food. We would totally recommend to visit and taste the food. Mind that it is a prime restaurant so the price accommodate to the food...
Read moreOverall, I had a positive experience at this steakhouse. The restaurant itself is quite nice and, thankfully, open during the day, which I always appreciate. The interior is a bit on the lavish side, perhaps a touch too opulent for my taste, but not overly so.
The food selection is impressive, with some interesting and extreme menu items that brought a smile to my face. I enjoy seeing such variety. The meat selection is adequate, and I tried a set for two. The presentation is fun, with the waiter bringing, slicing, and serving the meat, which adds a nice touch to the experience. The service is excellent.
Regarding the meat, I felt it lacked the smoky aroma that comes from being cooked over an open flame. It might not be prepared this way, which could explain the missing scent. Additionally, I would have liked a sprinkle of coarse salt; the presentation looks a bit sad without it. However, the quality of the food is good overall.
Mini burgers… while the minced Wagyu was flavorful, it could have been juicier. The bun was served cold, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the burger.
In conclusion, despite a few minor points for improvement, I enjoyed my...
