Food - acceptable. Service - worst experience ever!!! I never felt so undermined by the waitress at any restaurant as here. I don't know if on purpose, but it felt like that. I wanted to order a Viennese coffee and just wanted to make sure that it was what I wanted. So I asked the young lady if it had whipped cream on top. She told me that it was only coffee and a little milk, no cream. I ended up ordering a capuccino instead. My boyfriend ordered the Viennese coffee in the end, which (to our surprise when it came) was actually what I wanted from the beggining. In between, I won't describe everything that happened, but that young waitress just tried to "cover her mistake" by undermining my statement. I wasn't in the mood for a quarrel, and we only stayed because we had ordered some food we wanted to try, but the experience was the worst ever!! They must hire better professionals to serve customers. I don't...
Read moreThis restaurant is a disappointment. We just left. The Monarchia across the street is much better. The "street host" at the Magyar Ízek is like a conman. Recruiting wild eyed English tourists to come and eat. He is aggressive and rude. He sat us at a table next to the door and it was cold outside. He told us the door needed to stay open because the restaurant was hot. The food was well enough prepared but not worth the price. The street host kept approaching us while eating to tell us to close the door if we felt cold but it needed to stay open. Strange and rude. We were charged a 12% gratuity although we were not grateful for our servi e. Again the food was good but not great. Recommend the Monarchia where we went yesterday as a much better value for authentic cuisine and who employ hosts who are kind and...
Read moreI never thought that I would have the absolute worst Lángos I have ever eating in 🇭🇺 of all places. I have legit eaten refried Lángos at Christmas Markets in Vienna that has been better. The thing I was served was warm, sure, but was soggy and COMPLETELY bland. Not even a bit of salt in the dough. Not at all fluffy, barely any textural variation, and extremely expensive for the quality. Like for real €5 for something of this quality is outrageous when you can get Lángos that's orders of magnitude better across several places in 🇦🇹 for like €4 to €4.50...
I can't speak for the rest of the food but if you decide to go here, for sure...
