We found it pretty easy to find vegan food in Budapest, but vegan and gluten free was a little more difficult. We went to Laila’s Mediterranean Restaurant to check out their vegan options, and the owner, Ahmad, sent us to Tahina Bites because he owns that establishment as well; he said they are an all vegan restaurant and pretty much all gluten free. So we went— we loved it. It’s a small place that sits on a side street; I rated the atmosphere as a 4 because it really didn’t have much to look at, but it is really considered fast food so it’s not a big deal. It’s also a little cramped because it’s so small. The food itself is delicious. It’s set up salad bar style where you tell them what you want and they make you a bowl, or you can order from their menu. The bowls come with whatever options you want (up to 3 or 4 items) choose 2 hummus of your choice between several flavors, and homemade falafel balls (these were so yummy, crispy on the outside and soft and yummy on the inside). We made our own bowls and they were delicious. Now, I rated the food a 4 (it wouldn’t let me put a half of a star otherwise I would have rated the food a 4 1/2) only because the amount of salt was just too much- I was so parched after my meal and during. Unfortunately that’s what you get when you eat out, but when traveling you need to adjust and I did. We went back again because it was so tasty. Yes, even though it was salty, the food was just so yummy and filling that we went back. The service was excellent both times we went— very friendly attentive, polite, and always had smiles. You pay after you eat which I thought was pretty cool so you can just sit and enjoy your meal and then handle payment. All in all- great place to eat vegan and...

Tahina Bite is an absolute gem and deserves every bit of praise! During my recent visit, my friend ordered a dish without realising it didn’t include veggies, and when she noticed, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Without hesitation, they prepared a fresh serving of veggies and refused to charge for it. It’s rare to encounter such genuine kindness and care for customers – this thoughtful gesture truly made our day.

The place itself is spotless, with a welcoming atmosphere. Watching the staff work hard behind the counter, you can see how much pride they take in their work and serving customers.

The menu is bursting with creative, vegan-friendly, and gluten-free options, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s also dog-friendly, WiFi-enabled – everything you could want from a local spot.

Tahina Bite is the perfect combination of outstanding food, a warm atmosphere, and customer service that goes above and beyond. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it! I’ll definitely...

Ate several times in this small restaurant during recentstay in Budapest.

We worked our way through the bowls menu and also had the Lebanese bread wrap. Also tried their home made smoothies which were excellent 😋 All food is healthy, fresh and delicious, they use environmentally friendly packaging for the take aways.

Staff are exceptionally kind and attentive, we could not figure out how they didn't get flustered when handling the cue outside and lots of pick up deliveries. This creates a very pleasant, calm atmosphere to have lunch in and a bit of reprieve from the busy area around. Fast wifi with easy connection.

I would thoroughly recommend it for vegans and flexitarians (such as my husband and I) but also if you prefer some plant based food.

My only regret: I didn't get to try their vegan stuffed...

I thought I liked falafel and salad until I tried the falafel bowl. It looks big with a variety of fresh veggies, but the taste is just.. raw -- like the radish is bitter/spicy and in my opinion inedible. The pickled peppers and beets also have an extremely mild taste like they haven't been pickled fully? And the falafel balls are more moist/runny than I'm used to; they're seasoned but the flavor was.. not worth eating, and I have not thought this about any other falafel I have ever tried. I should clarify I am not vegan, and my boyfriend who did expect plain raw vegetables was not disappointed. Service was a bit slow but very kind.

This place is a real gem! We went there twice during our short stay in Budapest (once for dinner and then for a delicious breakfast before our departure) and it was a wonderful experience each time. We managed to try a number of different dishes and every one of them was incredible and full of flavour. The staff there were also super nice and friendly (not to mention infinitely patient with me taking forever to decide what I want to order). I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a vegan meal in Budapest or anyone who enjoys Lebanese food. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
