We had high hopes for the steak house as we were eating on Christmas Day. Menu was basic for the set menu, the steak was very dry, half a parsnip and maybe two spoons worth of mash, all served on a wooden bored which isn’t hygienic. Our daughter is fussy with her food and we asked for her steak to be well done and just fries with it. He looked at us like we just killed his gran. When desert came we asked for just plain ice cream for our daughter when it arrived he literally threw her bowl down. This waiter is very rude. Very arrogant. The table next to use for some reason we’re treated with lots of respect by him even giving them a full 10 min break down of why he’s serving a bottle of wine. He did this very loud in a very arrogant way. This guy is on the site video making cocktails. Rude, arrogant. And for for price we paid we would have expected it to be a brilliant meal. No atmosphere. What a shame it ruined our...

I was excited to try Icelandic lamb, a renowned local dish, and hoped to visit your restaurant for the experience. Unfortunately, I couldn’t secure a reservation, so I decided to stop by in person to inquire about a table for one.

When I arrived, the manager was assisting an older couple with payment, so I patiently waited my turn. However, a group of young patrons entered and immediately engaged with the manager, cutting ahead of me. Despite my waiting, the manager continued assisting the group without acknowledging me. When I finally spoke to him, he informed me that there were no tables for walk-ins but did not apologize for my extended wait.

While I understand that reservations are strongly recommended, the experience left me feeling overlooked and dissatisfied with the service. I hope that, in the future, guests are treated with greater attentiveness, regardless of...

Very average food but very overpriced for what you get. If you are an American then you will be upset. If you are mainland European then it is just average. The whale appetizer came to me within seconds straight from the refrigerator it had been sitting in. It was so overly marinated that was all you could taste. My T-bone steak was a very poor cut and was so peppered it was disturbing to eat. Also, it was very sinewy. The baked potato was pre-cooked and then so overly reheated that you could not cut through the skin. The bottom was completely burned. I guess they just think you will eat the inside which was just sour cream anyway. The broccolini was cooked fine but so salted that it was inedible. Finally, the overpriced glass of wine came from a very cheap bottle that was marked up exponentially. I have read that this is the best in Iceland and that is a...

Incredible place. Nice atmosphere, really good service, an incredibly accurate chef and wine master (sommelier) but first and foremost, an incredible menu with meats of an exceptional quality, prepared and grilled with perfection exactly the way you want from "bleu" to really well done. We recommend the lamb (should it be the filet pr the prime) but the most stunning is definitely the "surf and turf" plate, which is half whale meat and half horse meat. Unbelievable. Congrats also for the very complete wine menu (surely the best in the whole country). Good to exceptional French wines but sold 10 times their french price... (it's a long trip to bring them here in perfect state, probably?). You could without hesitation prefer Italian wines or the fabulous South African ones, which better fit with whale steack.

WOW. Visited Reykjavik for my birthday and from the reviews obviously we had to visit here for my birthday meal and I'm glad we did. Very comfy cosy atmosphere. Staff are welcoming and friendly. I had the t-bone cooked well done (I'm sorry!) But it's how I like it and it was cooked perfect, it was soft and flavourful, the chips are amazing aswell. My husband had the horse and whale dish which he has never had before and he enjoyed it alot. The sweet potato mash that came with it was amazing. The bread that was served was soft and the butter delicious. If your a meat lover like us this is a must try in Reykjavik. If we went back to Reykjavik we would get ourselves booked in straight away. Absolutely amazing. Best birthday meal I have had in a long time. Thankyou!!

I was skeptical about going to a steakhouse in another country as the steakhouses in the United States are all pretty good. I am so glad we went to this restaurant. Atmosphere was upscale but still laid back. Prices were very fair, in the US it would be nothing to spend $200 USD at a steakhouse, we spent less than that, got an appetizer, 2 alcoholic drinks, and 2 entrees for about $130 USD. Service was amazing and the food was outstanding. The lobster appetizer was delicious and the perfect size for an appetizer. I had the horse and whale and my significant other had the salted cod. Both were amazing and tasted wet fresh. Cooked perfectly and the side dishes/garnishes complimented the proteins perfectly. If you are in Reykjavik, I would recommend you stop by.
