⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Le KocK” in Reykjavik is an absolute gem in the heart of Iceland. My dining experience there was nothing short of exceptional.

I ordered the Trump Tower burger with extra bacon, and it was a culinary masterpiece. The double-smash burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy. The combination of griddled onions, cabbage, mustard, mayo, and truffle ketchup created a symphony of flavours that danced on my palate. The extra bacon added a delightful crunch and smokiness that took the burger to another level.

To accompany my burger, I indulged in all the potato variations offered. Each one was a unique and delicious experience. The KocK Potatoes, with their deep-fried baby potatoes topped with the signature KocK sauce, were a classic favorite. The Greek Potatoes, topped with feta spread, grapes, ranch dressing, peanuts, and spring onions, provided a fresh and tangy twist. The Parmesan Potatoes, with garlic sauce, parmesan, and fresh basil, were rich and flavorful. The Chipotle Potatoes, with chipotle sauce, guacamole, bacon, and spring onions, had a perfect blend of heat and creaminess. Finally, the BBQ Pork Potatoes, topped with fried pork belly, Korean BBQ sauce, Japanese mayo, wasabi nuts, and spring onions, were an explosion of bold and exciting flavors.

For dessert, I couldn't resist trying the donuts. They were warm, fluffy, and coated in just the right amount of sugar. The crème brûlée donut was my favourite. The perfect end to an incredible meal.

Le KocK offers more than just food; it's a complete dining experience. The ambiance is modern and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. If you're in Reykjavik, Le KocK is an absolute must-visit. You won't be...

It was raining. We got wet. Feeling sorry for ourselves, we went looking for a juicy burger. Le KocK was awarded "Best Burger" for 2018 and 2019 so we went for it. Le Kock is (as my wife remarked) particle-board chique with 1950's knick-knacks and Robert Crumb/American Ultra-esque cartoon glyphs giving it a funky, approachable, we're-all-cool-together vibe. I had the Dirty Harry (see picture). The burger came piping hot (and whole - I always cut my burgers in half... easier to appreciate the layers and I'm a messy eater otherwise). It was juicy and tasty: lots of mushrooms and the "special sauce" was excellent. I prefer my lettuce to be full leaf and wrinkly-crisp and this was already shredded but, meh, to each his own and I'm just weird. My wife had the veggie burger and the staff asked if it should be vegan (so kudos to being veginisticly woke). What she got was a Falafel patty - crisp on the outside - and well seasoned. Her initial reaction was that it was a bit dry but on reflection couldn't fault the Falafel. She enjoyed it and I didn't taste it so I'm just reporting her reaction. As much as I'd like to think I'm worldly, I had an unusual experience. I noticed the beer glass had a threaded metal ring on the bottom. When I poked my finger in the middle, the bottom of the beer glass opened and I nearly had a beer bath. This is Le Kock's fancy beer filling system (the staff showed me how it works). If you want to look suave, avoid curiously poking the bottom of...

Amazing burger! I got The Hangover Burger and topped it with bacon and a sunny side up egg. It was heaven on a bun! The bottom layer was less like lettuce and more like a tangy slaw with a few pickles and onions that added a nice crunchy zing. The beef Patty itself was absolute perfection. Combined with the cheese it was very velvety and exactly how beef should taste. The top layer with the Le Kock sauce and egg added a very nice creamy texture. Let's not forget the bacon! It was very crunchy and smokey and not overly salty. Just as it should be IMO. All of that held together with an incredible house made potato bun that kept things fairly tidy for a burger of this magnitude.

The accompanying Bernaise Potatoes were fabulous as well. They had pickled red onion in them which really kicked up the flavor. I also chose to try a local beer and settled on Leifur. It was very similar to Blue Moon in that it was light with a beautiful citrus zest to it.

This was on of the best eating out experiences I have ever had. The burger literally makes me want to jump a flight to LA to put this burger head to head with my previous "best burger ever!" It's been a few years since I have had "The Hatch" at Umami Bruger but... I think this might be the new king. All hail "The...

Sadly, this place has suffered for its success. The burger was just ok, which is a big step down for a place that had the best burgers in Iceland. The potato's mostly tasted of cooking oil and have lost all the qualities that made them one of best potatoes that were available in restaurants in Iceland. When I made the order, I specifically asked to get the sauce that they put on the potatoes to the side. There was no sauce on them, but the sauce they used to have on them did not come on the side, but I did get two containers of hamburger sauce. And since the communication between server and kitchen is not good enough, I got my burger without any sauce, not what I asked for. The taste of the burger was bland to be fair, one tiny slice of cheese could be seen if one had the proper equipment to see microscopic items... Hopefully the owners will put some real effort into making this place into THE Palace it was for hamburgers that it was, and stop thinking about how much they can profit on tourist and foreign employees (which are doing a good job given every demand put on the by the owners and rude Icelandic customers) Also the place was very cold, my fingers were cold after spending 40 minutes inside.
