(快跑,不要去)
If you’ve ever had an authentic ramen in Japan, pls read. If not then well, the other reviews may be accurate.
My whole digestive tract hated me for choosing this restaurant. I didn’t know what hangry meant until I visited this place.
We visited this place 4 Jan. There were 6 people waiting for dine in, and guess what? We waited 1.5 hours before we were served.
There was only one staff doing the cooking, and he didn’t know what multi-tasking means. It took him one minute to cook the ramen noodle, but due to his bad time planning, more than 15 minutes was needed to get one ramen ready.
Like just watch him cook and you will know. If he shows my 8 year old brother how to cook a ramen, he can get one ready within 3 minutes.
They make takeaway orders first. A guy who came in 30 minutes later than us got his ramen before us.
I tried my best to take a picture of the ramen. BUT The ramen tastes worse than any random packed ramen u can get in any Asian supermarkets. The soup is basically soy sauce + water (+ a hint of lamb taste from the overcooked lamb). The noodle wasnt too bad to be fair. The lamb is so overcooked that I questioned Icelandic lamb.
The worst meal I have had in Iceland. And also overpriced. Just go any vietnam restaurant in town and have a pho lol. It’s cheaper and tastes better.
Source - trust me I’m Asian.
Edit per reply: To be precise, the total waiting time (standing in the cold + queuing in the restaurant + getting a table and getting our food) was 1.5 hours. I believe your 40 minutes meant how long we waited after we sat down. To be even more precise, we waited 1 hour after we ordered, if that makes the whole situation better? I have proof on my credit card record.
Even if it WAS 40 minutes, the staff told the customers ordering takeaways that the waiting time will be 15 minutes. Sooooo
(And fyi the cashier staff missed our order and asked us to re-order again, around 30 minutes after we ordered and paid. You can check the footage)
Also, we only got our ramen after the couple ordering after us have finished their meal.
My “source” is a joke lol. Just like “source - trust me bro.” I am everything but a racist.
To be fair, many of the negative comments are given by Asians. There’s a reason behind this. Well u can’t say we are all racist right?
It would be greatly appreciated if you show some humbleness.
Pho was actually cheaper ;) Their places do not have a 4.5 star rating, but I personally prefer their places both quality-wise and price-wise.
You are welcome to...
Read moreSadly, the Japanese dude on the images is non-existent. This ramen shop drops me bad impression about Iceland cuz that was my first meal here.
Not to mention the 30 minutes wait prior to having a seat, the 1 HOUR wait follows is completely unacceptable. As a restaurant owner, a ramen chef, time management should be your essential. Putting takeaway orders in higher priority is the first mistake, cooking too slowly while not exploiting all your cooking space available is another strange observation from this restaurant. The LONG WAIT is simply unbearable.
I will refrain from commenting on the taste for its Icelandic label, yet, a proper ramen shop will provide on choice of ‘hardness of the noodle’, addition of seaweed and garlic paste concentration. I am unsure about your comfort over the ‘AUTHENTIC’ label given under this google review list of yours, yet it should come to your concern over the number of Asians being unsatisfied over the performance of your restaurant, in which we are way more familiar about WHAT AUTHENTIC RAMEN IS, and this should bring your alert over the way of operation and cooking method of your restaurant. To my note, your restaurant is the ONLY ramen restaurant in Iceland which is representing the level of ramen in Iceland to the entire world.
Therefore, you should strive for achieving the level, working pace, taste of a real Japanese ramen restaurant. Hereby is my humble opinion and I hope your restaurant have a great future ahead.
Edit after your reply:
A 40 minutes wait is followed with our accommodation in the restaurant to be super precise. Moreover, the wait after we took a seat is even more enduring with your priority over take aways.
Unfortunately, it was absolutely fine for me over your furious objection to my review over your restaurant and I am sorry about your lack of humbleness over customer’s review. To my perspective, it seems criticism is simply not your favour. Absolutely loving how you only stressed on just HOW INACCURATE is my verdict over the 1.5 hours wait, and most importantly, not even one mild apology was seen over your reply. So, what more can I say then, good luck! Hope I can see Tibet guy one day...
