Bangalore Club — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Recently refurbished spacious modern rooms within a members only exclusive club. Very clean. Dusty areas at the exterior of the accommodation building due to ongoing construction work nearby (presumably temporary). Great central location and reasonable price.

Breakfast included but buffet needs a bit more variety. The main club house building has seen better days and needs refurbishment. However, the old colonial charm still exists. Strict dress code to enter club house.

Staff mostly helpful. Appreciate this is a members only club but staff need to be aware that non members may be staying in accommodation at the invitation of members. Especially security came across rude at times as we did not have a membership card. They should not assume guests are trespassing just because they don’t carry a membership card.

WiFi was a bit sketchy at times and requires new login details daily to be obtained from reception for the duration of the stay which can be a hassle. Only one key per room. When requested was told no extra keys can be provided. No lift in accommodation building; so staff having to carry very heavy suitcases up the stairs.

Overall, accommodation given service is 3 star at best but clean, new rooms and ensuite bathroom maintained to a good standard and includes the usual 3 star + amenities (tv, safe, phone etc), good AC, access to members pool, reasonable price and very central location. There will be one too many reviews about this Club, so I will refrain from repeating them. Instead, I would rather taje a look at it from an objective perspective of an outsider non-member vusitor. The place has more esteem value to the members and being in existance for over a century lot of facilities have been created and available to those interested in using those facilities. Rather old fashioned and bordering antique fittings and fixtures! Cosmopolitan Club in Jayanagar, in comparison, is very modern. Has very modern large restaurants and bars managed internally. Additional Facilities like Department stores, large multi-cuisine restaurant, bowling alley etc have been outsourced and can be accessed from outside. Bangalore club is the oldest club in Bangalore. it was established during British period. The location of the club is ideal, it is located almoat in the middle of the city. The club has all the regular features like 3-4 different bars indoor as well as outdoor and also the number of Restaurants. There are card rooms, sports rooms and also Big halls and small lawns to host programs of get together, such as Birthdays, marriage receptions and alike programs.
