Good Service but over priced Brunch with very bad beverage selection and No Seafood We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. With all the hype that i heard about the brunch, i thought this was a good occasion to try an exquisite brunch which was a disappointment in terms of concept, offering especially brunch selection
Things to highlight Service is good Staff are polite and very hospitable The quality of the Chicken was very good
Things to Improve No one from the restaurant called to confirm the booking, i had to call thrice since I had a big group. Very disappointing to see this from a Ritz Carlton
Beverage selection especially cocktails were worst. Menu selection was poor and to top it up the drinks were pathetic. It does not mean that the bartender should be reprimanded, but the overall curation of the menu needs to be looked into and drinks should be tasted before service.
Ritz Carlton should look at the experience and the product and in this case they fail miserably.
No Seafood on the buffet except for cheap fish at BBQ station.
Very limited European selection / Brunch looked like a mix of North and South Indian
Salads and desserts both were not on cold counters and hence temperature is an issue and could lead to potential foodborne illness if not managed.
Desserts were very good in terms of presentation but the taste was very sad. All of them tasted the same and as always towards mid-way, refilling was a challenge.
The place is so cramped up that you can't walk
They promised a cake for my wife bday but did not serve the cake and whilst I do not want anything complimentary, if you promised on two occasions, the message was not delivered to the team on the ground.
Kids play area needs to be looked into in terms of overall experience. Throwing simple drawing sheets does not make it as per Ritz Carlton standard.
Overall, there is a lot of areas to improve. If you want to charge USD 50 per person for your alcoholic brunch, it needs to be re-visited in terms of the product offering and experience.
I am not writing to criticize or in anyways say that this place is not good, but for brunch of this price, it is surely not worth the money spent. May be Senior management needs to look into the overall experience and see how they can elevate the same as this surely fell short of a Ritz...
Read moreThe high-tea at Ritz Carlton is supposedly a renowned experience. We chose this as the venue for a friend's farewell today (Aug 28). Boy were we in for an utterly underwhelming and frustrating experience.
Along with the usual dessert, the veg option had two savoury offerings - a mini grilled sandwich and an open sandwich. We had to wait over an hour for a second helping of the veg savoury options. Even then we were served just two pieces of the mini open sandwich.
We reminded them multiple times and were told they were looking into this on priority. It is utterly baffling how a top-notch establishment cannot get its house in order to whip up a few sandwiches. If you don't have ingredients, give your customers alternate options. At least, communicate on what's causing the delay and an ETA to serve the meal.
It was a fully staffed open kitchen clearly busy preparing the dinner buffet. There was only one other table occupied besides ours. I finally had to settle for pulling out the chicken from the non-veg sandwich and had a 'mayo and lettuce sandwich'. Absolutely ridiculous experience for a veg high-tea priced at 1450+ taxes for 2pax.
The duty manager was apologetic and fervently promised to look into the gaps. Granted he offered some discount for our inconvenience. Unfortunately the damage is done. If you cannot get your act together for a simple high-tea , I wouldn't risk spending any memorable occasion at your establishment.
PS : This is the second time this month my friend was having a poor experience with their high-tea. Even then, they were given elaborate feedback about the sub-par experience. They promised a better experience in future.Clearly something is broken and they lack either the ability or real...
Read moreWent for the Saturday lunch buffet. Loved it and appreciated the wide variety especially as we were super hungry.
The ambiance is nice, spacious but still allowing for a pleasant bustle, and I guess that hanging metal ceiling light fixture is very recognisable.
We were happy to notice a sumptuous chaat corner right at the start. But the welcome is led by desserts, which is right up my alley! I couldn't get enough of vegan chocolate mud pie - perfectly sweet, gooey and lovely. The chia seed and coconut porridge was an interesting dish, perfect for those looking for low sugar desserts. Same can be said about the sugar free panna cotta. The baked yoghurt was alright, but a good choice again if you're looking for low sugar fare. Lots of fresh fruits were available in this section, as were salads that included millet and quinoa dishes.
From the main fare, the fish cooked in black bean sauce was excellent. I also really enjoyed the pineapple and tomato fried rice. The Ambur Biryani was good, and made for a great combination with the Fish Moilee. Other items on my plate were great, fresh sushi; soft ratatouille; Andhra style chicken curry; and crumb fried fish with a chilli tartar.
The pomegranate mocktail was refreshing, but the mini focaccia was bitingly salty to be enjoyable.
The staff is great - very friendly and professional. It would be even better if they are a bit more mindful about restocking missing bowls, spoons, and making sure all counters have a service person. A little more awareness of the surroundings would make the experience smoother.
Overall, we had a lovely time filling up. I went back for the mud...
