Subhiksha Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Kerala

Honestly, if I was able to rate ZERO stars or may be even NEGATIVE value stars I would have happily rated them -5 stars. This is one of the worst restaurants I've been to in terms of service and cost. There are many "waiters" wandering here and there. They even ask you what you want, but you'd be lucky if you get it within reasonable time. Their serving quantity is very poor: really stingy. You have to keep asking for a particular curry multiple times: rather embarrassing.

We ordered the "special" leaf meals. I do not know what is so special about this "meals", which I found to be of poorer quality than that served by Tamil restaurants such as Saravana Bhavan, Ananda Bhavan etc. The paayasam was the worst I've ever had. The price is the biggest surprise: Rs 250 (including tax) per meal! Saravana Bhavan rate is Rs 133 and 1000 times better no doubt! This is daylight robbery to say the least. Today, my parents and I went for Sadya and we were given 2 options - Normal Sadya which costed Rs 250 with one payasam and second one was Mini Onasadya which costed Rs 500 with 2 payasam. My parents went for normal and I chose Mini onasadya because it was my first and only one in this season. But, this was the worst ever, extraorbitanly overpriced Onasadya. Only 2 curries (pineapple pachadi and injipuli) were the added ones with normal. Sadya which costed this much should atleast come with boli and payasam and to my surprise, even that was not included, or I guess it got finished by the time we went for lunch.

Overall, never going back. And just wanted to share this here because i thought it will be helpful for anyone while choosing...

Subhiksha restaurant in Bharat Hotel has yummy Buffet lunch. We really enjoyed the Buffet lunch here after visiting the historical places in Fort Kochi areas. Lovely ambience. Service is more oriented towards Ala-Carte lunch tables and hardly any one around in Buffet area. You can pick the stuff in Buffet area which is replenished frequently with hot stuff.
