Worst experience at Park Street Social - AVOID at all costs!
I had high expectations when visiting Park Street Social for a Sunday lunch with my family, given our past experiences at other Social outlets like Delhi, Mumbai, Thane, and Powai. Unfortunately, this was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
First, it took over 45 minutes just to get the correct number of water glasses for our table of 14 people, despite repeatedly asking the wait staff. The service was extremely slow and unprofessional, with the waiters completely uninterested in anything except serving drinks and hookahs. We even had to call the waiter multiple times via the table bell button and verbally, but they casually told us to “wait” because they had other tables to serve. It seemed like we were completely invisible to them—especially with senior citizens at our table who were completely neglected.
The most frustrating part of the experience was the order placement fiasco. We were told to place our order through the QR code, but after doing so, a waiter came to confirm that the order was not placed. So, we had to place it again. After a second failed attempt, he assured us he would place the order on his restaurant tablet. That didn’t work either, and he then said there was a “technical issue” with the device. So, we were forced to suggest that they write the order down on paper—something so basic they couldn’t even think of themselves. It was beyond unprofessional!
After all this chaos, we finally got our food, and the experience continued to disappoint. The veg food was decent, but the non-veg food, especially the burgers, was completely inedible. The quality was poor, and I couldn’t even finish it. What’s worse is that the online menu had different names for items compared to the physical menu at the table. When we asked about it, they justified it by saying their tabs weren’t updated—as if that’s an excuse for such basic errors.
We also had a major issue with the wrong orders being served. We pointed directly to a dish we wanted to repeat and confirmed it, but they brought us something completely different. When we pointed this out to another waiter (Ms. Anjali), she had the audacity to make faces and was not at all willing to accept the mistake. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one that claims to offer a premium dining experience.
To make matters worse, they tried to compensate for all their mistakes by bringing us ice cream and cakes—which had egg in them, even though we had clearly stated our preferences and had ordered plenty of vegetarian options. It felt like they were making assumptions and not actually listening to our needs.
We shared all our feedback with the senior staff (if they were actually senior), but it was clear that they didn’t care or weren’t empowered to make any changes. This experience made it feel like Park Street Social has completely lost its way and doesn’t value customer satisfaction anymore.
I cannot stress enough how disappointing this was. The service was appalling, the food was subpar, and the overall experience was an absolute nightmare. I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. There are plenty of other better dining options around Park Street, and you should not waste your time, money, or patience at this poorly managed...
Read moreWe booked a table for two at Social, Park Street, a week in advance, with confirmation for 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday. We arrived a little early and waited upstairs, only to be seated at a tiny, mismatched corner table with 2 mismatched chairs, clearly not meant for guests. The table had an outdated colonial European vibe, completely out of sync with the rest of the pub. We asked to be moved to a proper table before ordering, especially since we wanted to take pictures, but were told to order first while they looked for a better table.
Meanwhile, larger tables for 4-6 people got more attention than us. We ordered shrimp popcorn, which was good, and a Banarasi Patiala cocktail, which was okay. We had confirmed a week earlier that Espresso Martinis were on the menu (subject to availability). After ordering two Espresso Martinis and pancake saddlebags from the all-day breakfast menu, the staff first told us the martinis weren’t available but then brought out what looked like black coffee in a martini glass. The rude server even flicked coffee beans onto the drinks with bare hands after forgetting to add them initially. I wouldn't be surprised if they told me that they actually made the "espresso martinis" with instant coffee grounds.
What was most confusing was the pancake saddlebags situation. I overheard the server telling other staff multiple times that pancake saddlebags weren’t available, but then he actually brought us something and called it pancake saddlebags. Whatever it was, it was ugly, tasted bad, and was clearly not what we ordered. If they couldn’t make the pancake saddlebags, what did they serve us? It felt like nonsense whipped up just to cover up their mistake.
Throughout our visit, we were stuck at that tiny corner table for over an hour while other guests leisurely enjoyed their time, taking photos and sipping cocktails. Multiple requests to move to a proper table were ignored or brushed off with "you'll have to wait until a guest leaves". Why do you take reservations then? The server repeatedly asked us to “please wait a minute” while complaining about his job in front of us, which was unprofessional and frustrating.
Our bill was around ₹2900 for a disappointing experience with poor service, mismanagement, and a lack of respect for guests who had booked in advance. Social, Park Street, is seriously overhyped, and I will never return or recommend...
Read moreI recently visited park street social and unfortunately, my experience was marred by the poor service and unprofessional behavior of the waiters Fiyaz and Baresh(spelling can be different)
Upon arrival, my friends and I were greeted with indifference rather than warmth. The front gate lady kept on talking on the phone and there was no other person to check our reservation. After waiting at the entrance for a few minutes, we decided to go to the 3rd floor which is open area. While looking for a table the waiter came to us and suggested we should take shared table of 8 and we were 3 people. When I politely requested a different table, the waiter rolled his eyes and said those tables are reserved for other customers, clearly annoyed by my request. Again he was suggesting us another empty table of 8, which we will again share with other people when needed. When I asked about our reserved table for 3 ,he had no answer for that. We even had a prior reservation which was confirmed by the restaurant. Then he was clearly instructing me to go back to the front gate and talk to the lady. When I refused to go because it's not my duty to find my table and fight for a decent table after proper reservation, he again asked me to take the shared table or a table which is near the big screen. I asked for a manager that time. You ll be surprised to know that another waiter joined him and they both were suggesting that we should go to the 2nd floor (which is DJ floor with loud music) and take a seat. I clearly mentioned that either you call a manager or we are leaving the restaurant. Then he called someone and asked us to take a seat where we wanted to in the first place. This argument took a good 15 to 20 mins of our time and honestly after that we didn't feel like spending a good time there.
The culmination of this poor service came when my friend asked for water and he was clearly not interested and sent someone else to serve us. Anyway server Alhadin was very good.
Overall, the combination of poor service and unprofessional behavior left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope the management addresses these issues, as the food truly deserves better service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend parkstreet social based on...
