Detailed Review of Bademiyan

Ambience and Service

Bademiyan is known for its traditional Indian cuisine, and the ambience often reflects a casual, bustling vibe. The service at the restaurant was prompt, and the staff was courteous, but the quality of the food left much to be desired.

Food Quality Chicken Curry: • The chicken curry was disappointing. The excessive use of oil overpowered the dish, masking the expected robust blend of spices that defines a good chicken curry. • The flavor profile lacked depth, with an absence of the rich, slow-cooked taste that typically characterizes this dish. Paneer Tikka Masala: • Similar to the chicken curry, the paneer tikka masala was excessively oily. • The paneer itself was decent in texture but lacked the smoky, marinated flavor that makes this dish stand out. The gravy was bland, failing to bring out the balance of tanginess and spice. Chicken Tikka Biryani: • The biryani was average at best. • While the chicken pieces were tender, the rice lacked the aromatic punch of spices typically expected in a biryani. It felt like the dish was missing the balance of saffron, fried onions, and ghee that elevate a biryani from ordinary to exceptional.

Overall Experience

The meal was underwhelming, especially given Bademiyan’s reputation. The excessive oil in the dishes and lack of robust flavors indicate either a rushed preparation or a compromise on quality. The chicken tikka biryani, though decent, didn’t compensate for the...

Bademiya Kebab Restaurant is nothing short of a Mumbai institution. Tucked away in the bustling lanes of Colaba, this legendary eatery has been serving up mouth-watering Mughlai delicacies since 1946. What began as a humble street-side seekh kebab stall has grown into a brand that resonates with food lovers across the city.

The magic of Bademiya lies in its smoky, succulent kebabs — especially the iconic Mutton Seekh and the velvety Malai Tangdi. Each bite feels like a celebration of rich, traditional flavors that have been perfected over decades. Their Bhuna Gosht is another crowd favorite, packed with robust spices and slow-cooked to perfection. And while meat takes center stage here, vegetarians aren’t left out — the Paneer Tikka and Veg Bhuna make a solid impression.

There’s something charmingly nostalgic about eating at the original Colaba location — the aroma, the clatter of the streets, the open-air vibe. For those who prefer a quieter setting, the family restaurant offers indoor seating, though don’t expect frills. The focus here is the food.

That said, the restaurant did face a setback recently due to hygiene concerns, which prompted a brief closure. It served as a reminder that even institutions need to maintain high standards. The management has since taken steps to rectify the issues.

Despite the hiccup, Bademiya continues to be a go-to spot for kebab lovers. It’s a place where heritage meets flavor — a true culinary gem that has stood the...

Mumbai's iconic Bademiya restaurant is renowned for its delectable kebabs and tikkas. Although the restaurant is modest and small, the food consistently draws large crowds of diners from all over the city.

Bademiya's menu is straightforward but satisfying, with an emphasis on kebabs and tikkas cooked with flavorful chicken, mutton, and paneer. The centrepiece dish is the juicy and savoury Chicken Tikka, which is made with marinated chicken that has been expertly grilled and topped with a spicy mint chutney. Another meal you should try is the Mutton Seekh Kebab, which is created from minced mutton that has been flavorfully spiced and cooked to perfection on the grill. Fast and amiable service is provided at Bademiya, and the staff is always happy to offer suggestions and guide you through the menu. It's a terrific choice for an inexpensive yet filling supper because the cuisine is prepared to order, guaranteeing that it's always hot and fresh.

The atmosphere at Bademiya is one of its best features, with the street's activity enhancing the overall dining experience. Due to its extended hours, the restaurant is a well-liked destination for individuals seeking a post-party snack or supper.

Overall, Bademiya is a must-visit for anyone looking for some of the best street food in Mumbai and is a true foodie's heaven. No matter if you're a local...

Latest update :- Taste Fade away Recently visited bademiya to search for the taste that was missing when I visited last month (may) . And the taste is still missing, this time the taste was basic…. I don’t know what’s wrong but they don’t serve the same taste as before. This time ordered chicken bhuna which was my fav dish of bademiya but what I got was a sweet tangy chicken curry. Total mood off. Also had malai tangdi and shami kebab would rate them 2.5 / 5 . Tried mutton kheema, it was also basic. Getting disappointed by starter and main course, we decided to skip biryani this time and order dal khichadi which was really good, better than any non veg dish we tried. Also the service was 2/5 . Waiter forgets the order same like last time so please confirm the order once u have ordered it. Giving 1 stars just because of the dal khichadi and hoping that the old taste returns. Old review:- 5/5 Best chicken kebabs. Also had chicken bhuna, chicken tandoori and biryani. Must try chicken bhuna and kebabs. Prices are high. It's the quality over quantity. Must visit for non veg lovers

Starve but DONT visit here - ONLY if you want to be INSULTED, TREATED LIKE DIRT and want to be treated MUCH worse than a stray animal, visit here. Food- The food was horrible - chicken had blood and blood clots in it and the mutton biryani was nothing but bones. The rice too was flavourless and only coated in congealed oil. They refused to serve boneless in anything stating all items are out of stock on a weekend (please try some better fooling tactics).. the tikkas were hard as stones and 6 small pieces. The roomali roti and naans were made of wheat & so thick and hard to eat.. a complete waste of time energy and mood. Pathetic and horrible is putting it mildly. Customer service - When you bring it to the managers notice he acts like he'd be happier if you just left and never returned.. the person taking orders and servers get irritated if you ask them for water after 20 mins of waiting.. As an apology, the manager sends a small side plate of exactly 2 boneless pieces of mutton.. I'd serve an animal with better respect than that after being given raw bloody food.
