Theobroma was such a joyful find in Bombay. The pastries are just sinful! The brownies, red velvet cake, banoffee pie, lemon tart, cheesecake, croissants and sandwiches, the list goes on and on, everything is just soo good to eat. The pastries are priced decently and are full of goodness. The warm brownie is the perfect pairing for a cup of Americano. The gooey chocolatey-ness of the brownie is wonderful and you really do get that kick of chocolate from that. The red velvet cake was indeed the best we had. The cake was moist and well-soaked, and the frosting had the perfect tanginess that we have been looking for. Red velvet cake was the synonym for perfection! The croissant was flaky, buttery and loaded with richness and goodness. The roasted chicken mustard sandwich was the perfect breakfast bite. The banoffee pie was all that it was meant to be. The New York cheesecake was the only thing that was falling behind a little. But overall, a great place for a guilty pleasure.

Went in here a few days ago with a friend to have a coffee. Unfortunately, it took a while for the coffee to be delivered because the cashier who took the order passed it on to the other person working at the time. There seemed to be some kind of misunderstanding between the two which resulted in the coffee order being delayed. The young lad apologised for this and provided a complimentary brownie to make up for the delay. The coffee was quite good and piping hot! The cafe is located on a busy road but it's nice and quiet inside. After a few days, I went back to purchase a cake to take with me as I was visiting a friend's house for afternoon tea. They provide cakes/pastries both in eggless and normal versions. The decor inside the cafe is nice and this is an easy place to recommend to anyone looking for a good coffee and pastries while visiting Colaba ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cashier overcharged me on bill on 5/1 The sandwich, red velvet pastry and pain au chocolate were of a good quality, but when it came to the billing, Risika did not give me the bill and just mentioned the amount due ₹637. I paid , left and then came back realizing I had been overcharged. I asked for the bill, which she then scratched out the extra item, new york cheesecake that she added. Clearly not a mistake and a usual practice. No apology either, and she returned the balance. She thought I was a naive foreigner, yet I live in India and have worked in the food and beverage industry in India for many years...I know all the tricks. Dear owner, you need greater accountability and better systems.

The Holy Trifecta

It isn’t every day that you take some time off for yourself, grab one of your favourite buddies to hit the most bustling street in South Mumbai, shop till you drop (quite literally) and then treat yourself to chocolate heaven. For those of you who are familiar with the inner workings of the mystic land of pretty earrings and thrifty slippers aka Colaba Causeway, you’re probably also familiar with the tiny but vibrant home of wonderful brownies aka Theobroma.

Raging since 2004, Theo’s (as it is popularly known) is your one stop destination for all sweet cravings, specially brownies. Theo’s is owned and managed by a Parsi Family and if you frequent this place, you will definitely find the family members being actively involved with all the activities. This bakery which has now expanded to various cities was first stationed at this iconic outlet at Colaba Causeway. The décor is cosy, comfortable and absolutely adorable! At any given point, this joint is bustling with all kinds of people right from tourists to families, friends to coworkers, lovers to long lost mates, you’ll find them all. So what is it that sets this charming little bakery from its counterparts?

Undoubtedly, the quality of cakes, brownies, cupcakes and cookies served here is a notch above several joints that I have tried with the winner being their signature brownies. Over many visits, I have had the opportunity to try multiple items off their menu but here are my top three brownie recommendations:

Cookie Brownie

What could one possibly love more than cookie dough? Perhaps a Cookie Brownie from Theo’s? With a thick layer of cookie dough intertwined with large chunks of chocolate and a soft chocolate centre, Cookie Brownie is a gem of creation by Theobroma.

Overload Brownie

If you’re a hardcore, no nonsense, chocolate lover then this is the brownie for you. Topped with a crunchy layer of chocolate and gooey center of soft brownie, Overload Brownie will melt in your mouth.

Millionaire Brownie

One of the signature brownies of Theo’s is a delight for a die-hard molten chocolate fan. It is a soft brownie covered with a generous helping of molten chocolate.

Whether it’s a random craving for sinful pleasure or a celebration of any achievement, Theobroma pretty much has something...

You don't need to travel the length and breadth of Mumbai if you want to indulge yourself into chocolate-coated,sugary made in heaven deserts. Theobroma serves some classic assortments that you must have never seen ever.

Theobroma is a small evergreen tree species and it has cacao fruits from which you make cocoa powder and chocolate. It also means "Food of the Gods".This place is small, bright and the spread over here is exquisite.

The blueberry cheesecake ₹120(5/5): They had got it right.A thin blueberry crush layer on the top and in the middle of the pastry. It had soft luscious sponge.

Choco chip Brownie ₹60(5/5) : If you try to pick it up,it will break apart.A tiny little perfectly baked square brownie,it had the purest of choco chips in it.It was a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Opium Pastry ₹95(5/5): It was soft, delicate and was made up of the finest coffee beans and other ingredients.A slightly less bitter in taste.

Cheese Croissants ₹65(4.5/5): They were served warmed and buttery with good amount of cheese in it.They were soft and easy to eat.

Tiramissu Cup ₹90(5/5):It was really well soaked in alcohol and had one little layer of cake at the bottom. The coffee flavor was coming out really well with each bite.

Chocoholic Cake Pastry ₹95(5/5):With three layers of various chocolates,it was very well executed dish and sweet in taste.

Cup Cake Big ₹80(5/5) :Frosted fresh Strawberry cream on the top,the cup cake was soft from top the bottom and the chocolate indulgence was divine.

If you get cravings especially sweet you must surely visit fit-for-the-gods place. The amazing stuff will leave a smile on your face...

As someone who values authenticity and transparency, it's disheartening to discover that Theobroma Cake Shop has resorted to paying for fake reviews. Upon closer inspection, it's evident that many of the glowing testimonials online are not genuine but rather manufactured to artificially inflate the shop's reputation.

It's a shame because, at first glance, Theobroma's cakes seem promising. However, the integrity of their business practices comes into question when they resort to such deceptive tactics. As consumers, we deserve honesty and genuine feedback to make informed decisions about where to spend our money.

I urge Theobroma Cake Shop to reconsider their approach and focus on delivering quality products and services that speak for themselves. Authenticity should be the cornerstone of any business, and resorting to paid reviews only undermines trust and credibility.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Theobroma Cake Shop due to their unethical practice of soliciting fake reviews. I encourage fellow consumers to exercise caution and seek out businesses that prioritize integrity and honesty...
