We had the Mie Goreng Vegetarian, Eggplant Curry, Gado Gado, Fresh Ginger Lemongrass Juice and Coconut Pie. These are the dishes that made our taste buds thank us: Mie Goreng Vegetarian: tasty, sweet, savoury and just feels so right.
Eggplant Curry: the freshness of the ingredients continues in this warm and comforting mild curry. Its spice level is very low so you don't have to worry about upsetting your stomach. It's not as pretty to look at but it's the taste that counts.
Gado Gado: it's the first Gado Gado that I've had that comes with the ingredients so warm and fresh. The cauliflower and cabbages are boiled just right. The tempe is lightly fried to perfection. The keropok were light and crispy. Put together, the entire dish was very delightful. The prices of the food was much lower than the warungs of similar standard.
The highlight of our meal was the Coconut Pie! Light and cool dessicated coconut filling enveloped in a thin crisp crust. Just superb! It's like nothing we've ever tasted! It was so good we ordered another slice to take away. Don't let the pale colours distract you. Your eyes might be fooled but your tongue will know! The sweetness level is perfect (though some people might feel it's not sweet enough) The fragrant crust is so unique and simply out of this world! Taste...
Read moreTo begin with, let me be clear that I like food and dishes with intense taste and not blend. So this is a hidden Warung that has a nice atmosphere for dining. There's ample seating at various locations that caters to different group sizes. Ordered Ayam Soto and Nasi Campur. The Soto was very salty, too salty in fact. Not sure if that is normal as I've tried Soto in bandung, Jakarta and they ain't so salty. Maybe it's a Bali thing, I do not know. The satay that comes with the rice set was simply too dry and tough. I'm very sure the chicken meat is breast meat and had not been marinated before skew for cooking in order to save time. A very bad choice of meat to make skewers satay to begin with. Dishes on the rice set were blend, so it didn't suit my taste. They forgot my drinks, and I had to remind them twice using sign language because none speak English. All said, the price is very cheap though. I hope those giving 5 stars are not due to its low price. Overall, I would not be returning unless I need...
