We booked 3 nights with kaamala through luxury escapes $899 3 nights aud plus added extras of 1hr spa x2 Daily A la cart breakfast Daily lunch or dinner Daily bucket of beer (3beers) or 2 cocktails between 2people

The rooms were lovely the view we had of the jungle was beautiful! We wanted to book the private pool villa but they were booked out

Room Pros - really comfy bed, 2 bottles of water Daily included beautiful view, could watch the monkeys in the morning from our bed ! Air-conditioning was really good Cons - could smell slight sewage from the bathroom it wasn't too bad but not 5 star equivalent we just folded floor towels and put over the toilet and shower vents to stop the smell.

Food - breakfast was really weird, odd accompaniments in the dishes example eggs bennedict had mash potato and waffles had Granola that just didn't suit. The serving of strawberries was like 1 strawberry into tiny pieces The Bacon was really weird more like cured meat not very nice. I think the menu could do with a fresh update Lunch - hands down the pizza is the way to go it's real pizza bases absolutely delish - go the margarita Dinner - Winners were crispy duck, pad thai and pizza. Tom yum and pasta not great. Other notes - coffee was just good. Watermelon juice was good. Look to be honest I don't think the quality of the food matches the price at all there's definitely a couple of good choices but it comes with the absorbent price to match They also have shisha for 300k which we thought again was a little pricey Cocktails were really good but all around $15aud The view is just gorgeous though I'd go for an earlier dinner so you can actually see the view, we saw lots of people rocking up at 8pm or later and you just sort of miss the gorgeous view.

Pool - unfortunately the pool was having the deck ripped up so we could only access half of it - it was pretty dangerous we had an 18mo with us and had to keep ushering him away from the debrie - was a bit of a disappointment but I guess can't be helped they have almost finished pulling the deck up so I think in the next 2-3 weeks or so the deck should be done. Other than that the view of the jungle was amazing !! If your a big hot shot instagrammer this is where to get some good content there's lots of really good photo opportunities - we saw a few "influencers" taking advantage, but to be honest I guess good marketing for the hotel so. Also hot tip go to the "chapel on level 3 just before the restaurant/spa there's an elevator go there for a quick look at the beautiful view or a cheeky pic"

Spa - the floor boards were awful Borderline dangerous there were holes everywhere covered with carpet, it's only a matter of time before someone rolls an ankle there. Such a shame because the Balinese massage was actually really good and relaxing !!

Service - the service here is absolutely outstanding ! They greet you with such kindness and are always going above and beyond. They kept our son entertained so we could enjoy our food /drinks for a short break. I really really believe the staff make this place that extra bit special!

Surrounding area - Lots of great and super affordable food choices and massages on the street heading to main town (turn left from the resort), you can walk about 15mins to town we did often. Even with a pram we managed

Final words - Look the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the view was great, just the finishings and maintenance fall short of a 5 star resort. Our package included the food otherwise I don't think we would have chosen to come here for food alone - unless you wanted to spend some time here for a drink swim and some nice photos have the pizza. There's no doubt the staff service is 5 star and above Location isn't bad gojek into town for about 5aud or...

Not as promoted on website and social media!

What made us to book the hotel - good size of the room (called as suite) with separate bathtub and living area, nice facilities as was shown on the photos and Instagram, good price with list of value added services included. Good reviews on Google, but in really we faced multiple issues during our stay that I will list below for everyone to be aware of! We booked and stayed in Suite with Forest View.

Internet was poor on the first day, disconnected and didn’t work properly. Very poor sound proof system (actually no soundproof at all), you can hear the jungle, neighbors, music from the restaurant, the doorbell of the neighbors etc you can hear everything As part of the reservation and promotion on website was mentioned - daily afternoon tea included, afternoon tea is tea/coffee and pot with small nuts, and two types of crackers that impossible to chew (photo attached so you can see what to expect from afternoon tea) Staff is polite, friendly but trying to sell everything- all the hotel services, I can understand that they have targets etc, but it’s annoying. Even guide/driver started to text in WhatsApp the same day after arrival to arrange trips with him. We mentioned few times prior to our arrival that we are celebrating honeymoon, to have room with a good view etc. While we had bed decoration with leaf petals, there was a message that if we wish to have bath decoration, please order and pay for it. Though on next day during breakfast we were congratulated with a cake. Also our room was allocated just next to the restaurant/bar - so you could hear all noise, and noise of your neighbors. No proper door for bathroom, just the wooden partition which is visible and shower/toilet door is glass, so no privacy Only one item can be ordered from breakfast menu. The food was ok. Looks good on the photos, but nothing impressive in terms of the taste compared to other places in Bali. Everything was limited to one selection/item - one juice, one water, one croissant etc. if you wish to have extra one day we were told it’s not what’s included. If we want to have another chocolate croissant it’s not possible (though they served it to us at the end). One evening we came back to our room and found big lizard, so had to call hotel team to catch it Not fresh bakery served on breakfast (one day we were served chocolate croissant as hard as a rock, definitely not freshly backed on the same day) - not acceptable for the resort that promotes itself as “luxury” Holes in curtains, stains on carpets (photos attached) Very outdated safety box Seems they invest a lot to promote hotel on Instagram as a luxury and host “influencers” to create beautiful pictures and content, but wish they would pay more attention to their guests, quality of food and rooms. AC was leaking on multiple occasions, one day came back to the room and AC was opened One night when there was heavy rains we started to have so many flies in our room (though we never opened balcony door), apparently all these insects came to our room through the gaps in balcony, and when we told it to the staff they told and confirmed it to us that the hotel is not done properly and no proper sealing etc, so be ready to have unwanted “guests”...

Overall we had a great time staying in one of the pool villas and would totally recommend the resort. There were some flaws described in the following that should be reviewed and corrected to enhance the experience.

Communication prior to Arrival 80/100

We contacted the Hotel prior to our arrival concerning transfer possibility. We received a fast answer. -The price provided was a nett price, which is not too helpful for foreign tourists since no information about the tax rate was provided.

Location 100/100

+Located in a little bit calmer side street of Ubud. +By foot, center is fast reachable +Nice Rice field or forest views +Many restaurants close by o Taxis take a long time to get around since the traffic and one direction streets. That’s the case for all hotels obviously

Facilities / overall resort 90/100

+2 great restaurants +everything is accessible, few stairs +buggy transport if needed +great community infinity pool -small and dark gym. No towels in gym on 2 subsequent days. After asking the staff they gave me a towel.

Room 80/100

++Pool Villa had an awesome private pool ++Huge shower and bathtub +Good and fast housekeeping, clean +Pool Villa was spacious +Good AC and fans inside and outside -Trash bins too small -Fridge outside the room - Had to be locked because of monkeys and did not cool very well -By standard no pool towels, no extra towels for baby. Only 2 Large towels per Villa. -Eating outside is not possible, monkeys came and stole our lunch :-) -Pool was not so clean, monkeys throw stuff in (e.g bread), housekeeping did not remove stuff. Bread crumbs floating around for days. -Water leak somewhere in the toilet leading to water puddles in the corner —Baby cot mattress had LOTS of black mold on it. Completely unacceptable and a health risk! Staff exchanged the mattress quickly upon complaining.

Breakfast 90/100

++Very Tasty, high quality food +Awesome Views +Attentive Staff o a la carte breakfast, no buffet. Was okay since selection was large and portions good. A small selection of cold cuts (ham, cheese) would have been great for the bread basket -No flexibility: Asked for plain pancakes or waffles for our baby, only option was to choose and pay for a full size waffle Or pancake meal with most of the ingredients removed -Only 1 baby chair was available one morning. However the staff brought a second one from the other restaurant after some time

Service 100/100

++Very friendly and prompt service +All problems were resolved as good as they could o Staff was very welcoming, maybe a bit too cheerful each time we came by the reception on or way in or out. Is just a thing of cultural difference and preferred distance :-)

Pricing 90/100

+Villa pricing was fair for what is offered - at least during the rain season +Restaurants are on the “high-end” side, and prices somewhat higher accordingly, but still fair for what is offered -Activities and transfers are priced above the alternative options. You pay for the convenience of booking through the hotel and I assume all services offered are up to high standards. However, it’s easy to find awesome tours and services in apps or close by for often significantly...

Good reviews on Google, but in really we faced multiple issues during our stay that I will list below for everyone to be aware of! We booked and stayed in Suite with Forest View. - Internet was poor on the first day, disconnected and didn’t work properly. - Very poor sound proof system (actually no soundproof at all), you can hear the jungle, neighbors, music from the restaurant, the doorbell of the neighbors etc you can hear everything - As part of the reservation and promotion on website was mentioned - daily afternoon tea included, afternoon tea is tea/coffee and pot with small nuts, and two types of crackers that impossible to chew (photo attached so you can see what to expect from afternoon tea) - Staff is polite, friendly but trying to sell everything- all the hotel services, I can understand that they have targets etc, but it’s annoying. - No proper door for bathroom, just the wooden partition which is visible and shower/toilet door is glass, so no privacy - Only one item can be ordered from breakfast menu. - One evening we came back to our room and found big lizard, so had to call hotel team to catch it - Not fresh bakery served on breakfast (one day we were served chocolate croissant as hard as a rock, definitely not freshly backed on the same day) - not acceptable for the resort that promotes itself as “luxury” - Holes in curtains, stains on carpets (photos attached) - Very outdated safety box - Seems they invest a lot to promote hotel on Instagram as a luxury and host “influencers” to create beautiful pictures and content, but wish they would pay more attention to their guests, quality of food and rooms. - AC was leaking on multiple occasions, one day came back to the room and AC was opened - One night when there was heavy rains we started to have so many flies in our room (though we never opened balcony door), apparently all these insects came to our room through the gaps in balcony, and when we told it to the staff they told and confirmed it to us that the hotel is not done properly and no proper sealing etc, so be ready to have unwanted “guests” during your stay

Overall we had a great time staying in one of the pool villas and would totally recommend the resort. There were some flaws described in the following that should be reviewed and corrected to enhance the experience. Communication prior to Arrival 80/100 We contacted the Hotel prior to our arrival concerning transfer possibility. + We received a fast answer. -The price provided was a nett price, which is not too helpful for foreign tourists since no information about the tax rate was provided. Location 100/100 +Located in a little bit calmer side street of Ubud. +By foot, center is fast reachable +Nice Rice field or forest views +Many restaurants close by o Taxis take a long time to get around since the traffic and one direction streets. That’s the case for all hotels obviously Facilities / overall resort 90/100 +2 great restaurants +everything is accessible, few stairs +buggy transport if needed +great community infinity pool -small and dark gym. No towels in gym on 2 subsequent days. After asking the staff they gave me a towel. Room 80/100 ++Pool Villa had an awesome private pool ++Huge shower and bathtub +Good and fast housekeeping, clean +Pool Villa was spacious +Good AC and fans inside and outside -Trash bins too small -Fridge outside the room -> Had to be locked because of monkeys and did not cool very well -By standard no pool towels, no extra towels for baby. Breakfast 90/100 ++Very Tasty, high quality food +Awesome Views +Attentive Staff o a la carte breakfast, no buffet. However the staff brought a second one from the other restaurant after some time Service 100/100 ++Very friendly and prompt service +All problems were resolved as good as they could o Staff was very welcoming, maybe a bit too cheerful each time we came by the reception on or way in or out. Is just a thing of cultural difference and preferred distance :-) Pricing 90/100 +Villa pricing was fair for what is offered - at least during the rain season +Restaurants are on the “high-end” side, and prices somewhat higher accordingly, but still fair for what is offered -Activities and transfers are priced above the alternative options. You pay for the convenience of booking through the hotel and I assume all services offered are up to high standards. However, it’s easy to find awesome tours and services in apps or close by for often significantly less. Overall 90/100
