Maha Cafe/Bar — Restaurant in Bali

My partner and I came here on a Saturday night with high expectations from reading previous reviews and we couldn't be more disappointed. The staff seemed to be completely young females who were more interested in sitting around smoking and gossiping like young teenage girls rather than actually pay attention to customers. My partner has a severe nut allergy and even as she showed a translation explaining the allergy the staff seemed puzzled and had little knowledge on how to explain what has nuts or not. We did assume that it was possibly a language barrier but after showing the translation we realised the staff were essentially just clueless. I had a beef dish that I had seen been recommended and I was horrified by how tough and rigid the meat was. It felt like chewing leather.

Overall the venue itself is quirky and appealing and would be great for a quick drink but for food and good service I would suggest...

we came to this place a bit late in the night, probably arround 8.30pm. their last order is 9.00pm.. I came here with two of my friends from Canada, Ron and Maximus. We got crispy duck and local food capcay. we also got san miguel beer which is sooooooo nice beer. Long time we dont see and we spent this night together ing several places. Food..?? okay the food here are delicious and tasty also yummy..Ron really love the crispy duck, "bebek goreng"..i love their capsay.. and Max..?? i ron know what is the name of his food but look soooo yummy too.. hahahahhaa.. but the most important part is, when some one come..? and talk to Ron.. whattt..?? this guy i've ever seen before. yeahh..he knows a lot of my family,my aunty, my cousin.. he look so familiar to me. The ambiance is pleasant and relaxing out in the back patio area. The food is decently priced for their specials they offer. Their assortment of drinks are not the greatest tasting but also far from the worse. From previous reviews there had been mention of 13 rabbits, however all that I had seen were 2, one dead and one alive- so I wonder what happened to the other 11... (and, while it’s disconcerting to have discovered a deceased bunny, it wasn’t the end of the world- understand in Indonesia, animal welfare can lack here by Western standards). I make the review to advise the establishment to put in some basic measures to improve the survivability of these creatures since they don’t fair well in extreme heat, and also for any super sensitive animal lover, as you will most certainly hate this place.
