So I’ve stayed here a few times now. Nice rooms, ok breakfast, bathrooms always stink of urine. On my last occasion- which will be my last time coming I left really unhappy and in pain. We checked into a superior room - for the last few days of our 5 month trip in Asia. The bathroom was quite unpleasant with the smell of old urine that I spent a while giving it a thorough clean. We went out for food and returned to giant ants in the room- thinking it must have been food we left out we checked and there wasn’t anything attracting the ants in that we could see. We sprayed the room and informed reception. The next few nights the same happened. With ants in our bed too. In the end we were given a broom so we could sweep them up ourselves. On the fourth night we came back to so many ants covering the floor and the bad that we couldn’t stay there any longer. Management wasn’t particularly helpful, they wanted us to move to a room and then move again for another night. So we could never unpack and just relax. After so too and fro the manager spent some time to switch rooms to allow us to stay in the same room for our last days there. So they moved us to a lower grade standard room and tried to charge us nearly the same price as the superior room- only after showing the manager the prices on Agoda (though he lied and said they don’t use Agoda any more- even though I booked the existing stay on Agoda) that he finally backed down and charged us a more reasonable price- though still too much. We finally move all our stuff at 8pm - no help from the staff there. And we check into the lower grade room. Bathroom stinks of urine. Most furniture and fittings have seen far better days. The rains poured that night- and we went to bed. I woke up and walked to the bathroom and slipped, tore the skin off my arm, crushed/bruised my toes and hit my neck on the wall- which is still currently in pain. I slipped due to water coming through the ceiling. On inspection this isn’t a new problem but one that has been going on for sometime but no one has maintained the room to a good standard. The next morning I spoke to reception- WHO DID NOTHING! No apology nothing! We then saw the cleaner and realised why all the rooms stink of urine- as the mop (old ragged towel that looks very unclean) is used in the bathroom and across all floors and even outside and it’s never washed or rinsed. Thank goodness we were leaving the next day. We couldn’t get out fast enough. As I’ve said, I’ve stayed here before and whilst it’s always needed more maintenance, it has been a perfect location and it has a great pool. But there’s other places very close by for the same price that I would be using from now on. If the management had taken a bit more responsibility over this I doubt that would...
Read moreDON'T STAY HERE. The first thing I saw when I walked into my room was a huge patch of bright green mould under the air con. I now have a cough and chest pains after staying overnight which I believe must be from the mould being blown through my room by the air con. This mould is also in some corners of the room and under lights etc. ||||The water comes out of the tap, shower and toilet BLACK. The bathroom is infested with ants crawling through the ceiling and window. Our sliding doors have an inch wide gap down the middle and along the bottom when locked and the mosquito curtain does not even reach the floor, allowing for mosquitos an bugs and god knows what else to get into our rooms at all times.||||There is no drinking water, there is litter all over the garden and in the ponds (which are bright green and filthy I'm surprised the fish are still alive). The wifi blocks almost every website, and the ones that do work are so slow its impossible to use. This was so inconvenient for me as I work online and had a deadline, which I could not meet. I asked if there was any way to fix it and I was just given confused looks by the staff who do not speak English or seem to care about anything, hanging about reception on their phones.||||I know the health and safety in Bali is a little more relaxed than the West, but here it is just shocking. The garden is roof top with no fence or wall to stop people falling off and onto the street. Stairs/bridges also have no railings making it easy to slip and fall. Lots of exposed wires/sharp materials in the rooms and outside in the garden. All we could hear all night and early morning was loud revving engines and talking from the staff and other guests.||||We decided enough is enough and walked down the road to check into a place called Maple House which is SO much cleaner and the staff were so lovely to us! When we went back to Permai to tell them we are unhappy and are leaving, the receptionist just said okay, checked us out, and charged us 600k! Didn't apologise, didnt ask what was wrong, didnt offer to upgrade us or show any sign of being remotely bothered that we were unhappy! ||||Overall disgraceful place I'm very shocked it is...

Wayan is the owner and goes out of his way to make sure guests are happy, comfortable and enjoy their holiday.||Although we often try new places this family run establishment has become a favourite. |There are both new and traditional rooms available which are all.spotlessly clean, serviced every day and have all basic amenities. We stayed this time in the newer buildings where there is plenty of room including large amounts of storage space. Air con and lovely bathrooms are part of the package.|The welcoming knowledgeable staff here are genuinely friendly and always available to help or answer any uestions.|Breakfast is also available and is in a lovely setting, the banana pancakes and homemade jams are divine.||The location is in the middle of a popular vibrant shopping and restaurant area so all just steps away but once entering the establishment the atmosphere changes and is totally relaxed.|The shopping is of good quality and not just the usual tourist stuff found by the coast.|Massage and wellbeing are a mainstay of Ubud but the Yoga Barn is worth checking out for further interesting and varied options and within a short walk from Ubud Bungalows.||We asked Wayan for transport for our airport pick up and also transfer to our next destination which was reliable and efficient and would not hesitate to recommend this additional service.|When we left we had a message to say that we had left some personal items behind. Wayan was so kind to arrange for his daughter to bring these to us which was quite a journey for her but was so appreciated by us.
