Wanara Spice — Restaurant in Bali

Don’t look further for a place for dinner in Ubud. Wanara Spice is simply the best. Two of us had a fantastic dinner of grilled red snapper and a savory bebek (duck) that were perfectly prepared and picture perfect. That and a couple of drinks at a very reasonable price. Real linens, instagram worthy presentation, and a most welcoming feeling. But the best part might be the cooks and the manager. Suki came out from the kitchen and we had a twenty minute chat about all sorts of things. So personable, such good food, and great ambiance. Food is good, tho I don’t think you should trust all the westerners’ reviews on the authenticity of the cuisine (I mean look at the menu it’s so diverse what do you expect for such a small kitchen).

Another thing to note is, unlike virtually all other restaurants in Bali (I live in Singapore and come to Bali often enough that I’m more familiar with Bali than my hometown), this restaurant’s menu prices are NOT inclusive of tax and service charges, so expect to pay 16% more...

What a gem! It's a bit hidden between Jl. Monkey Forest and Jl. Bisma. The food was absolutely great - went there twice in a row. The owner, Suki, is such a lovely person! On the second night I went there, his son had his birthday and I even got offered a piece of the birthday cake. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! I especially suggest you trying the Nasi Campur - the best I had in Ubud! Can't wait to go there again, as soon as I go...
