On a rainy evening in Ubud, we stopped by Shooq after reading some great Google reviews, and I’m so glad we did! The staff was really sweet and got us a table right away. They have a cozy setup with both small outdoor seating and indoor space.

We were lucky to catch their live music early in the evening – the singer was fantastic and added so much to the vibe.

We ordered the family chicken shawarma , hummus and pita, along with one of their home-brew iced teas (can’t recall the name). Oh my god – this was the first place in Ubud where we found food packed with flavor and the right amount of spices. The chicken shawarma was juicy and delicious, the hummus and pita were equally great, and they even served complimentary sides of baba ghanoush and crackers.
