Tucked away on Jl. Gootama in Ubud, Warung Lokal is a hidden gem offering a delightful taste of authentic Indonesian cuisine. While it may not have the fancy ambiance of some tourist-oriented restaurants, Warung Lokal makes up for it in spades with its delicious, fresh food and friendly service.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Warung Lokal and was thoroughly impressed. The menu features a variety of local favorites, from nasi goreng (fried rice) and mie goreng (fried noodles) to gado-gado (salad with peanut sauce) and ayam goreng (fried chicken). I opted for the nasi campur, a traditional dish with steamed rice accompanied by a selection of meats, vegetables, and egg. The ingredients were all incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, and the flavors were bursting with tradition. Each bite was a delightful exploration of Indonesian spices and culinary techniques.
What truly sets Warung Lokal apart, however, is its atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting environment. It's the perfect place to experience the charm of Balinese hospitality alongside a delicious meal. The prices are also incredibly reasonable, making it a great option for budget-minded travelers.
Overall, Warung Lokal is a fantastic restaurant that offers a genuine Indonesian dining experience. If you're looking for delicious, fresh food, friendly service, and a taste of local culture, then Warung Lokal is...
Read moreWe didn't try their food, but we did experience their horrible tourist activities service.
We visited seeking help to book EkaJaya tickets from Bali to two other destinations and back. We were led to believe that the price we paid included all transportation, based on explicit assurances with no room for misunderstandings. However, it turned out to be pure deception.
I have been in contact with the person who booked our tickets, and he reneged on everything he initially promised about transportation from and to the boats, and the boats being EkaJaya to start with. He falsely claimed that the boats he booked were equivalent to EkaJaya's and assured us all transportation would be included, which it wasn't. Essentially, he misled us on every front.
In the end, we ended up on extremely poor-quality boats that were unsafe, not worth the price, and not what we wanted. Additionally, despite being promised all transportation to be covered, we only got picked up from our hotel in Ubud to the harbor, despite paying for transportation.
I was nothing but nice them, very respectful on every front hoping they reliever their end of the deal, but didnât get much back from their side.
TLDR; Do not book any boat tickets with them; instead, book them...
Read moreIf you are at Ubud area or staying there, especially Gaotama Street...will be understandable if it is a bit difficult to find any Indonesian Local taste or restaurant if you are Indonesian. This restaurant might be one of limited options in this area. The name is Warung Lokal or translated into Local restaurant as most of the meal will be from local ingredients, such as Satai, fired rice, stirred vegetables and other. Compared to other places, i found that their portion is really ok. the taste is also there though in my palate it will be in neutral, meaning say not bad or not too delicious either. It is acceptable and nice. The location is also ok since you can see people passing by while enjoying your food.
