I recently visited this place with my wife, and we were thoroughly impressed with the food quality and overall dining experience. one of the standout dishes for us was the chicken teriyaki, which was perfectly cooked with a flavorful balance of sweet and savory notes. The sauce was rich and complemented the tender chicken beautifully, making it a comforting and satisfying dish. We also tried their sushi, which was excellent fresh, well rolled, and packed with high quality ingredients. The flavors were well balanced, and the presentation was meticulous, making it a great choice for sushi lovers. If you’re looking for a sushi spot in Ubud, this place is definitely worth considering. The restaurant itself has a calm and inviting ambiance, making it a nice escape from the busy streets of Ubud. The interior is cozy, with a comfortable seating arrangement that allows you to enjoy your meal in a relaxed setting. Whether you’re coming for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere makes it a great place to unwind and enjoy authentic Japanese flavors. However, one challenge you might face when visiting Toro Sushi Ubud is the parking situation. If you’re coming by car, finding a parking spot nearby can be difficult, as the available parking spaces are limited. Most of the time, you’ll need to park a bit farther away and walk to the restaurant. While this requires some effort, I can confidently say that the experience and food are worth it. Overall, Toro Sushi Ubud is an excellent choice for those looking for delicious and high quality Japanese food in the area. The combination of flavorful dishes, a cozy ambiance, and fresh ingredients makes it a place I’d definitely visit again. Despite the minor inconvenience of parking, the food and atmosphere make it a dining experience that’s absolutely worth the effort.

Went to Toro after reading the many positive reviews but it was a disappointing experience. Salmon tacos had 0 flavour. The grilled fish was supposed to be a fusion of French and Japanese. In reality the miso bouillabaisse sauce that accompanies it tasted like pomodoro sauce. The fish was very over cooked. We had a “caterpillar roll” as well but once again it was just average at best. Only the tuna pizza was full of flavour. The presentation and playing were both on point but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the food is tasteless. Apart from the bland food the service left a lot to be desired. Service can sometimes be the saving grace even if the food is not good but at Toro it was sloppy and inattentive. It’s common practise to check on guests during their meal, not so over here. Even after paying the bill and getting up to leave there was not so much as a “thank you” from the waitress serving us. There are much better options in Ubud.

Very good sushi. We went for happy hour, get a free maki roll when ordering 2 signature rolls. The Red dragon was the best roll by far, spicy mayo and tuna on top with tempura prawn and avocado inside. We also had drinks for happy hour, one was a pisco sour(actually not pisco but made of gin), good and fresh. The second one was a mango margarita and unfortunately it was really bad, I think it must’ve been the quality of the tequila. Immediately the waitress changed my drink and has another pisco sour. Nice and helpful staff. The only feedback is that drinks need to be served always before food and not after, we had to start eating before getting our drinks.

My partner has been here a couple of times but this was my first time here. I was a bit anxious after seeing some of the reviews but realistically you have to try things for yourself and make your own mind up.

The food that we ordered was really nice for the most part. It seemed to be relatively fresh and was presented well, anything that was meant to be hot or warm was served correctly and anything cold (e.g Ginger fizz, drinks) were nicely chilled.

Interestingly we initially ordered one serve of gyōza and they were fresh, very hot and delicious. During the meal we decided that they were so good that we would have another serve. These too were served piping hot but were really salty. It was certainly not as good as the first serve and left us wondering what had happened.

The pizza sushi was really good and the voodoo roll was overall pretty good however one of the pieces was served looking a bit roughly put together. I confess that I have never tried this voodoo roll before and I don't think that I would have it again, maybe it just didn't suit my palate.

Overall though, I would come back here again. It's a nice restaurant with friendly, helpful staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The music helps with the ambience, it's just at the right level to be heard but not interfering with your...

Food is good, not like amazing but enjoyable to eat. the atmosphere also nice, clean and neat. the only thing that bothers me is the Service. The waiter seems doesn't really have respect to Locals.

It's my second time visiting, first they don't even give me the menu even tho I already waiting for like 15 minutes.

the second time more horrible, she come with no smile, very grumpy looking. the way she give me the menu put in table in front of me and saying nothing. Im ordering 2 kind of food, she not asking if I want something else or drinks, also not saying anything after that like wait for the food or any other polite things.

then they let my table empty, no cutleries, no sauces, no small plate ( which normally in restaurant, they gave us that before all the food is coming )

5 minutes after that, there's international tourist come, she's suddenly super friendly, cheerful, smiling and full of service. bring them the cutleries, ask them if they want something else and everything is perfect.

So will I coming back again? I don't think I will. I Know that Im Indonesian, but Im also a Paying customer. there's no different between me and international tourist. In the Future, Please Never treat Local and Tourist differently please.

Hope you can improve your services...
