KFC — Restaurant in Jakarta

Their signature dish, the Large Mack, is quite delicious, comprising of two thick cheese patties with a thin slice of beef between them. It plays with themes of neocolonialism and economic inequality with subtones of coffee, honey, schadenfreude, and squirrel.

Explore the tasting menu by all means, but guests really come here for a la carte. Five course meals are available on weekends and include a starter made entirely of foam and melancholy, best enjoyed while listening to Bjork or Chrisye (headphones are provided and are also edible, if a little crunchy. Actually those might not have been supposed to be edible, never mind). The mains are bold and provocative; try the poached sheep liver in stinkbean (pete) compote if you dare.

Head Chef, Ratih, comes with a proud pedigree from her years at Nobu (the bank, not the restaurant, where she was until recently a head cashier before being fired for an unfortunate incident with a cat). She brings her own postmodern twists to classics such as;

Perkedel, but it's made of rice flour. Ayam Goreng KFC, but it's actually from the CFC next door. Twister, but it's actually stolen from Mexico with no reference to its burrital origins. French fries, but they're really Belgian.

The moment I stepped into the restaurant for dinner on 29 April, a pungent smell struck me. I thought it was from something around the entrance, but as I continued walking towards the cashier the smell grew stronger. It was like they hadn't washed the cloth they use to wipe the tables for days or maybe weeks. I told the janitor about the smell and he didn't seem to care. Neither did the cashier guy. He even blamed the 'dine in customers' and didn't apologize. The chicken was great tho. Would have been better if they weren't running out of their signature original chicken. They told me that they weren't making them anymore for the day. It was pass 9, but still, everyone needs their KFC original...

The worst ever kfc i have eaten in my life time. The staffs don't know english. This mall is a major tourist attraction. The kfc should be showing its brand quality atleast in such places. There was no bun available for the combos, they only had rice. The burger my indo frnd ordered for us was yuckkk.. There is no lid for the drinks. Food serving quality is really poor. I feel sad for the first time after eating from a kfc. They didn't even serve us with the tissues. Ultimately i can say is Pathetic. Will never ever recommend anyone. As being a tourist better we need to keep some indo frnds with us because of the language issues. Don't kill the name of KFC, please. Indonesia need...
