Katsukita at Grand Indonesia proved to be a delightful lunch destination. I opted for their signature Gyukatsu Truffle Cheese set, and I wasn't disappointed. The dish was a visual treat, with each element meticulously arranged on the plate. The truffle cheese sauce was rich and complemented the tender beef cutlet well. The accompanying sides, including miso soup and a fresh salad, added a refreshing touch to the meal.
However, there was a minor hiccup with the Gyukatsu meat. While the flavor was spot-on, the coating could have adhered better to the meat. This caused some of the coating to fall apart when picking up the cutlet. It would be a significant improvement if the restaurant addressed this issue. On a positive note, The Ogira Mochi tasted delightful and I was pleasantly surprised by the ongoing promo for a free Tempe Katsu. It was a unique and tasty addition to my meal.
Overall, my dining experience at Katsukita was positive. The restaurant offers a comfortable ambiance, perfect for a casual lunch. The food, barring the minor coating issue, was well-prepared and satisfying. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious Gyukatsu set in a pleasant setting, Katsukita is worth considering. Just be aware of the slight coating issue, and you'll surely have a...
Read morewent here last sunday with my friends. other restaurants were full, and since this one wasn’t, we decided to give it a shot. after a quick research, we found that katsukita had a pretty high rating on google, so we thought it would be worth trying.
upon stepping inside, little did we know things were about to go south.
bad food, bad service. it took quite some time for the waiter/ss to take our orders, but i still can understand that. then i ordered the spicy ramen, and god knows it tasted as salty as seawater. it wasn’t properly cooked too. i asked the waitress for help, but instead of offering any, she asked me, “then how do you want us to fix the noodles? add water?” — i told her to ask the kitchen, because why should a customer solve that?
a few minutes later, she brought the bowl back and it still tasted just as salty, as if nothing had been done. not even an apology.
a friend ordered the curry, and it was also overly salty. another friend ordered ala carte chicken mushroom, but a set one came instead. the miso soup it came out with was also salty. i honestly felt like we wasted our money coming here.
i’ll never return, and i hope other customers read this review before deciding to visit. i also hope the management takes this...
Read moreThere are 2 areas of seating here, the outside on the hallway where the AC didn't feel cool at all (it is a hallway anyway and is not supposed to be THAT crowded imo), and the inside of the restaurant which feels cooler. Most of the seatings are for a group of (at least) 4 people, so definitely perfect for families.
I ordered Curry Omurice with Garlic Fried Rice and Chicken Katsu. The taste is okay, pretty good but nothing special, maybe that's because I expected the garlic fried rice to be more garlicky, but I believe that's just me. The chicken katsu is good, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Hopefully they'll give us more options for the eggs wellness, because for me the omelette for omurice should be a little runny, but that is because they're using telur negeri, not telur kampung or omega eggs.
There is one thing that will probably make me come back here in the future tho: the hospitality. It feels like all the employees here definitely know what they're doing, seems like they have plenty of experience before...
