I recently stayed at Hotel Grand Thamrin Jakarta as a couple, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Here’s my detailed review:
Room Experience
The room was very clean and met my expectations. Its size was generous and definitely worth the money, with a comfortable bed that ensured a good night's sleep. However, the pillows were average and could be improved. I had a city view, which added to the experience, and the room matched the photos and descriptions provided on the booking platform. The standout feature was the room size and the hotel’s unbeatable location.
Facilities
Although I did not use most of the hotel facilities, I relied on the Wi-Fi during my stay. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi in my room (907) was unreliable, with frequent disconnections, and the speed was not as fast as I’d expected. This could be improved, as it’s an essential service for tourists like myself.
Dining
I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but there are great dining options nearby. For instance, there’s a Nasi Padang restaurant opposite Thamrin City Mall, which offers affordable prices for tourists and maintains a clean environment.
Service
The concierge was very helpful, and the check-in and check-out process was fast and efficient. I didn’t have much interaction with the hotel staff since I spent most of my time exploring the city, but the few interactions I had were positive.
Location
The location is superb, situated right beside Grand Indonesia Mall and within walking distance to Plaza Indonesia and Thamrin City Mall. It’s also very convenient to hail a Grab ride from the hotel, which made getting around the city a breeze.
Value for Money
The hotel offers excellent value for money, especially given its room size and prime location. However, a word of caution: avoid staining the bed linens as they impose a charge for it.
Overall Impression
I would definitely stay at Hotel Grand Jakarta again in the future, thanks to its strategic location, spacious rooms, and cleanliness. However, I hope the Wi-Fi is improved as it’s an important amenity for tourists to stay connected and avoid unnecessary roaming charges.
This hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located...

Read moreLocation is amazing however I had the worst experience at this hotel. The staff were not helpful at all and the toilet smelt bad. Upon arrival, my bed sheets were dirty and had stains, the bin in the bathroom was dirty and there was barely any tissues/toilet paper. I booked to stay here 8 nights and left on the 7th day. A family was staying on my floor with a 4 year old kid who would wake up at 4am and run up and down the hallway knocking on doors and SCREAMING. I called reception to complain, yet they did nothing about it. At 5 am this was still happening so I took it in my own hands and opened my door and told the kid to be quiet and stop screaming as there are people sleeping and this is a hotel not a playground. Again the kid continued to do this day and night. As I was checking out I informed the receptionist why I am checking out early (although I’m half Indonesian and speak indo fluently and spoke in indo to the guy) the guy was smiling and only said sorry- he was not sorry at all and did not care he was loosing a customer. Stay elsewhere if you can, no sleep...
