Osteria Gia in Plaza Indonesia is definitely more spacious and has better view during night compare in plaza pacific one. This restaurant is definitely my go to If I want a delicious steak, amazing pasta, and most of all, amazing welcome bread. Dont know if osteria gia is consider a fine dining restaurant, but it does feel like it. Interior is dim lighted, simple with many wine bottle use as decoration. The only downside of the interior is, they dont quite separately the smoking and nonsmoking, the smoking tables are just a few step from nonsmoking and they are allowed to smoke because the seatings are by the open air sides.
Service is excellent, waitress are friendly quick , although sometimes needed to be called a couple times, because it is always crowded and you have to book this place in advance.
We ordered Sirloin bistecca (IDR 475K) 300 gram of sirloin steak cooked perfectly as we ask, with delicious onion caramelized sauce. The sirloin is juicy, tender, just enough fat which is at the sides. Truly high quality steak need to be paired with simple sauce such as this, so it wouldn't overwhelmed the meat itself.
Spaghetti al burro e peppe (IDR 185K), best truffle pasta ever. I love truffle and this one has the most balance taste , pasta cooked al dente, sauce is perfect savory with truffle on top, if you dont like truffle this one might make you like it, cause the truffle smell is not too strong but you can definitely has this nice scent and taste from it.
Have the margherita pizza (IDR 95K) thin crusted pizza with mozzarella and tomato sauce, big portion, pizza crust crispy nice, tomato sauce is well balance taste with the cheese, even though there is no meat on it, it's delicious overall.
We ordered tiramisu, it is the best tiramisu I've tried so far. Not overpowering from the alcohol, sweet well balance, texture wise soft enough balance part of sponge and cream, be careful of the coffee powder on top of it, if you eat it sometimes it might cause you to cough .
Best part is, free to ask welcome bread. The welcome bread is delicious, served with balsamic oil and cream . Bread is soft and chewy , kinda oily, had this olive cut or pepper cut on top, free to ask as much as you can. Tips is, ask for the welcome bread and pair it with the juice from the steak.

Read moreLast night (20 Nov) got an awful experience during my time here. Let me share you the story : Please everyone read this carefully, so you guys can aticipate for your future experience here. Ps : there’s still plenty of choice dining restaurant in Jakarta. So be wise with your choise.
We are (3 of 4) arrives first at the restaurant. And the waitress let us sit in the outdoor table WITHOUT giving no information about the future reservation nor the time limits and the importance thing is there are no reservation sign in the table. We order food gradually because (one of my friend having a time dinner limit before 7pm), others want to enjoy coffee first before eating and the last one still stuck in her office. Time ticking near 7.30 pm and the waitress suddenly came to reminds us about the “reservation”. Because we’re still eating, we politely ask to her, did they (the one who “reserved”) already come? She said, they about to come and force us to move to a round table (small, which only fit for drink only for four of us). I repeat we still eating and not even finish yet. we give up to argue and move out. It turns out there’re still an empty table but all the waitress said it’s already reserved. the last friends coming and order her dinner meals, again the table is not comfortable to eat. There’s still my unfinished food in the table, 4 glasses and now 1 more plates coming, not to forget cutleries and big plates. Did the waitress see how uncomfortable we are? I guess they see it but pretending that’s the only way we got to serve. Shame! we ask for help to find us another table, because we want to finish with dessert. It turns out that their services got us more nerves!! Always said we ask the lady in front and finally one lady comes in and have no words to handle my friends anger. She said, “I will ask manager to come to see us.” then the manager comes. He offer we move to other table after so many argue, so many ask to move another table, and there’s still a plenty table left and about an hour later (around 8.30pm) , but our appetite has dropped. We ask for the bill, pay and then left! last one, no turning back to this awful services!
