GINGER HOUSE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

My and another family ate here tonight and in my 48 years, this is by far the worst food I have ever had. Even the street stalls in New Delhi had better quality food and I was more concerned of being ill here at Ginger House Restauarant than buying food out of a metal cart on the side of a street in Delhi!! It was a disaster from the start, ordering a bottle of water for the kids to be told they didn’t have any!! The prawn cocktail, the prawns were warm and looked nothing like the picture at the front of the restaurant. They ran out of ravioli and the full rack of ribs, my son had 4 ribs which was mainly bone, my daughter and I had 6 but the sauce was a congealed layer of something fused into the ribs, resembling a pack of frozen ribs nuked in the microwave for 10 minutes. My friend was picking out lumps of cartilage from his. We just eat what we could, paid and left. When leaving the restauarant we could hear a couple complaining about the ribs and was sending them back. My only advice would be avoid like the plague, the pictures at the front of the restauarant look nothing like what you get and it certainly isn’t an Italian restaurant except for selling pizza, which was the best dish that was ordered. Had dinner at Ginger House in the Bali Collection (Nusa Dua) and honestly, it was such a pleasant surprise. It’s an Italian place with a really nice menu—plenty of vegetarian options too, which was great for us. The food was genuinely tasty, and the prices were quite reasonable for how classy the place feels.

The staff were super friendly and humble, and the service was spot on—attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, with a nice vibe. The only strange thing is how empty it was when we went… not sure why, because it definitely deserves more love.

Service was incredibly slow, food came out cold and hot in the middle. This was due to service just not giving us the food. Fresh juice came in a tiny glass not worth the 30k(you can get a way bigger portion of juice for 17k elsewhere.). Handmade pasta wasn't good, questioning if it had even been cooked properly. Food came out without cutlery... Not sure why. Asked 3 separate people to get us a set. Also the manager forgot one dish when taking the order even though he read it back to us.
