My boyfriend and I first went to D'Joglo in November 2019, and now I finally have the opportunity to revisit. This review is going to be a comparison between my first experience here, and the second (as well as third in May 2023).
Back in 2019, we picked this place randomly and we had a good time. Food was great, portion and taste wise. Can't really comment on cocktails bc we only ordered lemon squash and beer. Price was reasonable (compared to La Plancha) considering the location. I honestly don't understand people who complain about the price. To me, it's reasonable and well worth it. Enjoying beautiful sunset on a comfy bean bag without minimum spending rule imposed like many beach clubs.
Now, in 2023, it seems like they have reduced the menu. I only notice bc my favourite pasta is no longer there. Not a lot to choose from now, but still reasonably priced. There are more beachfront restaurants there now and while it isn't much, D'Joglo seems to be a bit cheaper than the others.
I had a good time the second time I got here despite my favourite pasta being taken out of the menu. Then I decided to come back again yesterday with a friend, but this time I got disappointed. Nothing major but it would be nice if they hired a different band for the live music. He sounds alright singing some of the old songs, but can't say the same when he brings an Indonesian song and other new-ish songs. From my latest two visits it's clear that they brought the same songs—nothing new. For a one-time visitor it might not be a big of a deal but defo noticeable for regulars.
Another disappointment is D'Joglo doesn't seem to understand what Americano is. They only show Americano on the menu (no hot/cold sign like others) but the waiter informed us that they did have iced Americano. I ordered one, only to get Iced Cappuccino—not the No Sugar Iced Americano that I ordered.
I still give 5 stars for the waiter's wonderful service though.
We'll definitely come back here again bc D'Joglo will forever be special to us (it's where we went for our first date) but will have to check out other places nearby bc they seem to have more food and...
Read moreDjoglo Beach Cafe is a hidden gem along the coastline, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere perfect for anyone looking to unwind by the sea. One of the most appealing aspects of Djoglo is the lack of a minimum spend, making it accessible for everyone, whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a full meal.
The environment is impeccably clean, which immediately sets a positive tone as you walk in. The cleanliness extends not only to the dining area but also to the restrooms, which is often a critical point for many beachside establishments. It’s clear that the management prioritizes hygiene, which is always appreciated.
The staff at Djoglo further elevate the experience. They are friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy their work, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the cafe. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you’re made to feel like a valued guest.
As for the view, Djoglo Beach Cafe does not disappoint. The cafe is perfectly positioned to offer stunning views of the ocean, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy their meals with a side of natural beauty. Whether you’re visiting during the day or at sunset, the scenery is always spectacular.
Despite its prime location and quality service, Djoglo manages to keep its prices affordable. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, from light snacks to more substantial meals, all reasonably priced. You can enjoy a satisfying meal without feeling like you’re overspending, which is a rare find at a beachside location.
Overall, Djoglo Beach Cafe is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Its combination of a no-minimum spend policy, clean environment, friendly staff, great views, and affordable prices make it a standout option among...
Read morePrice: ⭐⭐⭐ The prices were reasonable for a beachside café, but considering the quality of some items, it felt a bit underwhelming. We ordered sheesha, but unfortunately, it wasn’t up to par. The coconut water was refreshing but came warm, which was disappointing as it would have been perfect if served cold.
Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The location is fantastic, right on the beach, giving you those perfect beachy vibes. It's a great spot to relax and soak in the view, with the ocean right in front of you and a laid-back atmosphere that really sets the mood.
Fun/Entertainment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The beachside vibe is definitely the main draw here. It’s the kind of place you want to spend an afternoon just chilling by the sea. While the sheesha wasn’t great, the overall ambiance made up for it, and it’s still a good spot to unwind with friends.
Facilities: ⭐⭐⭐ The café has a decent setup for a beachside spot, but it could do better in terms of service. The coconut water not being cold and the poor quality of the sheesha left something to be desired in terms of attention to detail.
Overall Experience: ⭐⭐⭐ Djoglo Beach Café has an amazing beach vibe that makes it worth a visit, but the service and quality of certain items, like the sheesha and coconut water, didn’t quite hit the mark. If you're looking for a place with a great view and atmosphere, it's still a good spot to relax, but don’t expect too much in terms of food or...
