BEWARE! DRINKS ARE SPIKED WITH METHO!

We were lured in here by the friendly girl out the front offering a buy 2 cocktails get one free deal.

Once we sat down we decided to order some guacamole and chips to snack on while we drank our cocktails. The chips were a chewy like consistency and the guacamole was definitely NOT fresh.

It got even worse once our cocktails came out, I had one sniff of it and knew it didn’t smell right. I was hesitant but I tried it anyway. It tasted like I was drinking petrol and immediately my stomach felt sick.

Neither of us could drink the cocktails however we still had our free one that was yet to come out. We politely explained that we couldn’t drink the cocktails and asked if we could possibly swap the free one that hasn’t come out yet for a Bintang as it is cheaper.

The lady said no we have to have another cocktail, I don’t understand this as the Bintangs are much cheaper. The only explanation I could think of is that the alcohol that they are using in the cocktails is cheap and nasty and that’s why they refused to replace it with a Bintang.

I have also read multiple reviews about this place (after visiting) about people who have gotten food poisoning from here.

I came here two days in a row. That should be an indication to how tasty this place is. Delicious.

The first dish yesterday was the Vietnamese Pho. Some critiques:

Slightly undersized. Meat is not tender but rather chunky, and the noodles were over cooked..however, flavour wise for the soup itself was 10/10. It was earthy, rich, and full of umami. Try it, delicious soup!

Today I came for dinner. I got the oto chicken curry from the “main dishes” menu. Oh, man. You must just try this dish. This is one of the best curries I’ve ever had.

It’s rich. Tasty. Perfectly balanced with all the right flavours. Not too thick, not too thin. Amazing variety of fresh veggies like potatoes and carrots, eggplants and zucchini. The chicken was soft and the broth / curry was insanely flavoured. Hints of basil and roasted garlic. Not a drop of salt or anything else is needed.

Heavenly.

We came here twice. Mainly because they have live music and it is a more happening place compared to others. Prices are totally fine but the food quality unacceptable. I got some serious food poisoning after our second visit. I had a chicken avocado sandwich. Which leads one to believe it is a not too unhealthy choice. But quite the contrary, it was just full of fried chicken which was obviously off, supper fatty sauce and plenty of butter on and around the sandwich leaving very oily hands behind like you were washing your hands in oil. The fried were soggy full of oil as well. But well, some people may be ok with that. However, serving food that‘s gone bad is totally not ok. I recommend to stay away from this place or if at all have drinks only. Btw, the first night we had other dishes that were only mediocre. We only decided to come back because of...
