My server, Chandra, was the best!
I had allergies and she worked between me and the kitchen to make sure my meal came out without gluten or dairy. They also made my smoothie with coconut water instead of milk. It was delicious! :)
The staff was extra helpful with letting me know the fries were made with flour and replaced them with a salad.
I give the atmosphere, food, and staff all 5 stars because I was very happy with them!
The only reason I have 4 stars is due to portions for price. I initially asked for a lettuce wrap instead of a bun for my chicken burger (which was prepared phenominally!
But I inquired about the salad after because they told me it already came with my sandwich. The veggies there were all things that came with the burger and I thought it was just forgotten.
They handled it great, though, and gave me more salad for my take-away when I seemed surprised.
Thank you, Hideout Cafe and Chandra! For giving me a place to escape the heat for a bit and...
Read moreThe food itself was quite good - especially the Avocado Toast was really good. But the açai bowl was a bit small and the açai puree was still frozen and in cubes. They didnt put the frozen cubes in the mixer first - maybe because they didnt have any time. It was 1 waitress and 1 person in the kitchen working - which wasn't enough! I can't believe how the owner doesn't use more staff as these 2 girls were simply drowning. Our drinks (coffee, water and matcha) werent ready after 1 hour after we ordered so we had to take them to go as we had to leave. The waitress barely understand and english - which made everything even more complicated. On top of that the toilet seat was colpletely damaged - it just fell off. Unfortunately I wouldnt go there again or recommend coming there if you dont have a ton of time (we had more than one hour - which clearly wasnt enough for the...
Read moreOrdered a fried rice with shrimp and a lemon fizzy drink (a bit over 92k in total)
Fairly budget option for tourists and this place is literally a hidden gem
Firstly, the food was great, the fried rice has great flavours and texture accompanied by some ginger and spice with a Japanese style soft boiled marinated egg
Secondly, the lemon drink was very unique in taste, under the hot Balinese climate the icy lemon drink was a lovely treat!
Then if you had chargers and adapter on you, you could recharge your device in the table while relaxing to the lofi beats played in the cafe
Even the toilets looked new and clean. This cafe is a solid hidden gem! Wouldâve been a shame if I didnât try this place when I visited Ubud!
PS: Just saw other peopleâs review mentioned they trapped their finger in the door too, nice to know I wasnât alone 𼲠maybe they should do something...
