Hmm, sad to leave such a low star review considering it had so many vegan options.
First of all, the service was amazing, staff so friendly and everything was so quick! We were worried when we first went in as it was quite busy that we might be waiting a while, but it was quick service!
So everything is a bit more expensive. Small bintang 39k which is not even including tax! Bit sneaky with the tax as at the bottom of the menu it says 'we charge 16% service fee and tax' it doesn't say its included nor excluded, and I'm sure they've caught a few people off guard with this.
Onto the food. They give you a free entree which was some bread with a vinegar and olive oil dip, its a lovely thing to do and it was delicious. I ordered vegan ravioli in bianco and my partner ordered vegan ravioli which came in a tomato and basil sauce. Mine was quite okay, nothing to sing home about, and I think the extra vegan cheese helped, but my partner enjoyed his. Said it was full of flavour. We were told vegan cheese comes on top of both dishes, but i asked for extra cheese, the waiter failed to tell us it cost 14k. I'm fine paying the extra, but when my partner got his you couldn't even see the cheese on top, so maybe be a bit more generous with how much cheese you put on before you charge 14k for extra.
The portion sizes was very tiny, I think there was about 5/6 pieces of ravioli with barely any filling. This is the first time we've eaten pasta at an Italian like restaurant and not been full? I think something to bare in mind is that vegan food is not as filling as other food (like cheese and meat), so maybe this is why. We've been to the vegan Italian restaurant in Canggu where the porition sizes are amazing!
We also ordered the three cheese pizza. It was a flatbread, we felt really like we had been taken advantage off at this point. It was not a pizza and it shouldn't be called one, it was a flatbread, barely any rise in the crust. Not much taste to it either and for 99k. It also came cold, probably because it is a flatbread so harder to keep warm...
Romantic setting with dimmed lights and candles, but, loud music and noisy kids running around.
Anyway,...
Read moreThe electric fans in La Baracca Canggu are hazardous and are extremly dangerous!
In this restaurant the staff leaves black markers on the tables for guests to scrible on the walls with.
Doing this, I stood on a chair to write on the wall. The problem is that because the fans metal blades are mooving at high speeds and it is often dark like at night, I was unaware of the danger I was in.
The fans metal blades moving at high speeds sliced my fingers open. If I was not wearing a ring on my index finger I am sure my finger would have been sliced off. The ring itself is completely bent out of shape having taken the brunt of the impact which almost broke my bone.
The high speed electrics fans made of metal are not caged or placed out of the way of guests who are wanting to ingage with the atmosphere.
Guests dinning should be warned:
All guests should be warned about the fans. For example, any one entering should be warned. Markers should be kept behind the counter and only given under supervision untill the fans are enclosed in a protective cage or removed. Guests should also be cautioned not to step on chairs as to reach for places with spaces to write.
What also made my night uncomfortable was that when the accident took place the staff lied to me; because this is not the first accident that has taken place. If percautions are not taken or if actions to remove the hazards are left undone this will not be the last acciedent which is why I sadly leave this negative review.
It is only by a stroke of luck I did not end up in the hospital that night. Or worse... permanently disfigured.
The pizza has been very delicious and I really like the location in Ubud. This however does not nigate that the infrastructure in this building is a Public Health Hazard.
BE WARNED! Your health and safety...
Read morethis is my very first time ever being well serviced in a restaurant. sound exaggerating but it really is.
me and boyfriend came here on saturday night with no reservations. as soon as we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed by one waitress, and a very beautiful lady owner. they asked us table for how many, where we would like to sit, and so on. it was very welcoming. and i remember what the lady owner said to us "nothing is impossible here, everything can be done, every dreams come true here"
we went to 2nd floor to find a table and got greeted by the man owner, helping us to find a table as we didnt make a reservation beforehand. it was very nice gesture of the two owners.
then the waitress came to take our orders. we asked for a bit complicated request as my boyfriend is not vegetarian, and im an allium-free vegetarian. and the waitress kindly agreed and offered us solutions to fulfill all of our requests. as the lady owner said everything really can be done here
time to time, both owners passed by to greet all customers, and asked if they need anything and such. i've never seen something like this ever before. it was really impressive.
and all their food and drinks are delicious as well. topped with excellent service, i would def recommend this place, and would def come back here...
