For a 2-star hotel, this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in! I just finished the 4-Nights Raw Food and Beauty Retreat and I already want to go back.
Each morning they wake you at 5:30am with a cup of fresh, hot lemongrass, ginger, and mint tea. At 6:00am we take a sunrise walk together in the beautiful rice fields close by. Later on we have a yoga and meditation class followed by breakfast. It is a very busy schedule with massages, colonics, raw food classes, some sightseeing activities, and even an acupuncture session. I was really happy I got to see a Balinese dance and go to the Tirta Empul Temple for the holy spring water. The tour guide Gusti explained the ceremony to me and was very helpful with making sure I understood the process. My favorite spa treatment was the facial with Muliani, I highly recommend. Widiyanty made me feel very calm with my colonic experience. This was my first wellness retreat and I couldn't stop smiling, the staff are so friendly and the kitchen is full of the healthiest juices, smoothies, and raw foods. I liked my room by the river, it was very clean with a nice porch to sit on. It had AC and a closed bathroom; however, the shower ran a bit cold. The location is absolutely prime, right in the center of Ubud, but tucked away in the quiet.
A few suggestions: Name tags for staff would be really helpful. They are so good at remembering my name and I wished I could remember all of theirs. More clear directions for the yoga/meditation session on steps to come out of poses and how to meditate or breathe would have been nice. The spa could definitely use a renovation, especially the locker rooms and bathrooms which looked quite tired and dirty. For spa treatments in the past, I typically fill out a form stating any injuries or skin issues and I get a little footwash before laying on the table - this part could go a long way. I did appreciate the cup of tea given to me at the end though!
Overall, I am so happy with this experience, I had to write a review. I can't wait to return to this...

My favorite part of staying at Ubud Sari is their finely curated collection of Indonesian art, artifacts, books & antiquities displayed throughout the property - adding a museum-like gravitas and sophistication to the rustic and raw surroundings of bonsai trees, water fountains, songbirds and coy fish ponds.
But perhaps the BEST part of staying here for you will be the LOCATION! Hidden at the end of historic Jl. They said they are really sorry they have been up since 7 am so maybe they missed my room. I was like what ? In a hotel like this ? But said okay whatever. 3 days later I wanted them to change my sheets they did and I realized I have been sleeping in a dirty sheets that someone slept on it.I told them about this, and she said oh we are still devoloping our hotel. I mean come on ıt is not a new hotel also cleaning is the most important rule in a hotel you don't have to devolop your skills for changing dirty sheets. Also one of the lady has a really really bad attitude I know that she can speak english very well cause she talked to me before. When I was talking about my problem she was standing there right next to us and talking indonesian to the girl I was speaking and the girl was translating to me. I was saying something to lady but still no english and a really bad attitude. But while I was leaving the hotel days after she came and talked to me english. Also I gave my laundry but they were still dirty also some of them lost their colour. They are not a hostel or a low budget hotel I paid a decent amount of money and look what I have got. Never ever...
