One of my favorites since I moved here — simple yet delicious, and so thoughtfully put together. A must try when in Dublin. Food & Drinks: Creative drinks that are delicious. Clean, healthy food choices are available which make this place even more special. I personally love the “old menu” (the north side branch changed the menu) and come here for their Brother Hubbard Avo Toast. The combination of the chickpeas, the seasoning and the avocado works really well together. The halloumi side was slightly dry, and the only bummer, but that definitely didn’t break the meal experience. Ambience: It’s a nice and cozy place inside, with lots of outside seating too. Love the colorful theme of food and interiors. Staff: Always smiling and super helpful when making choices. Whether it’s to-go coffee or the dine in stuff, they are amazing at making sure their customers are happy.

I wish I had photos of everything whats on the menu but I figured it would be a bit weird of me to go from table to table taking photos of other people's food lol. We had the lamb option and the one with Chorizo (I don't remember the exact names but you cant miss it on the menu). Both dishes were amazing but the lamb was something else. Absolutely delicious. For the desert we had a lovely Cheesecake. If they served it on its own, I'd say it would have been nothing special but served it like they're serving it, with blueberries jam and sprinkled with nuts/pistachios or what ever that was... It was delicious The cheesecake cream though is a bit powdery but the general impression and taste is just right. We're coming back again for sure to tey other stuff from the menu. Great service as well.

Brother Hubbard (South) is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy great food, amazing coffee, and top-notch service. This cozy café has a menu that, while limited, offers incredible dishes made with fresh, on-site ingredients like bread and pickles. And the coffee? It’s just perfect—rich, robust, and brewed to perfection. Whether you’re an espresso aficionado or a cappuccino lover, you’ll be impressed. The staff here are super friendly and attentive, making sure you feel right at home. Given how popular Brother Hubbard (South) is, I’d recommend getting there as soon as they open. The place fills up fast, especially on weekends, so coming early ensures you get a spot. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this gem!

The worst service I've had in years. We had numerous issues.

The first issue is that all of the food we ordered was served to another table next to us that arrived after us. While this happens, it took 5-10 minutes for the staff to notice (despite the other table clearly telling them that it was not what they ordered).

The staff, after many looks in our direction, brought the food back inside the restaurant and one minute after, served the very same plates to us just like if it came right from the kitchen, with no excuses or explanation, even for the delay.

They didn't replace the food that was sitting in front of other people. There was a hair in my girlfriend's plate.

Second issue, directly caused by the first, was that the food was cold.

Third issue, a pastry that we ordered never arrived.

Fourth issue, the "fresh orange juice" was actually based on concentrate and had a disgusting, acidic taste.

Fifth issue, the staff never came back to check on us despite many looks in our direction and seemed to avoid us. Our initial drinks were finished before we were even served and we didn't have the opportunity to order any other drink since the staff was basically absent.

We were expecting a lot for "the best brunch in Dublin" "featured in many newspapers and Netflix". Our disappointment was even higher than our initial expectations. We will definitely never...

Stopped in when passing today having previously seen good reviews. What a disappointment! We arrived at about 9am and the place itself was freezing. We should have left at that point but decided we'd persevere. The staff were nice and the menu looked good. Ordered cappuccinos and the Avo & Eggs which sounded lovely. The coffee arrived promptly but the first noticeable thing was that they are quite small. Then the taste...incredibly bitter coffee. Don't know who is recommending them for coffee but I'm afraid to my taste it's awful. On to the food. The plate was well covered with toast covered with lashings of avocado topped with 2 poached eggs and a forest of salad. The avocado came as cold as the room and unfortunately the eggs and toast were only slightly warmer. The only positive we had was that the staff were nice. All in all a very poor experience that for €30 left a bitter taste in the mouth. There are far better places for a good breakfast in Dublin. On the evidence of today we...

I've been here a couple of times in the past without issue however today was a particularly bad experience and I will not be back in the future. I arrived at around 11am, I ordered at the counter, paid and asked if the barista could take my order to the table as I had a buggy, to which he said no problem. As I headed towards the seats another employee aggressively confronted me saying "CAN I HELP YOU?". It was so aggressive I thought I had taken a wrong turn and might be in a different place so I asked "is this not the Brother Hubbard seating?". The person replied in an extremely rude/condescending tone "yeah but there's detailed signage asking people to wait to be seated". I explained I had already ordered and paid and his colleague said I could take a seat. There was no apology. There were two other customers there, despite the fact it wasn't busy my coffee arrived 15 minutes later and was lukewarm. Really...
