Average food, solid service. BYOB
We ate at Momento with high expectations. The servers were very kind and had the best intentions to be helpful. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Their challenge and opportunity lies in the food and server experience. They promptly opened my wine and BYOB is always a good. We started with the bruschetta which was similar to a sub role cut down and the bread was under toasted. One expects more of a crostini texture with bruschetta. The tomatoes and olive oil were good and they good fix this with an upgrade of the bread. I had the sea bass on a large mound of mashed potatoes. There was some broccolini and carrots on the side. This was the best dish of the night and done fairly well. My wife ordered a Cesar salad. We explained multiple times no meat because she is a vegetarian. They accommodated however it wasn’t a Cesar salad. It was a mixed green salad. Not sure what happened and she chose to eat it as served as it was late. I could tell she wasn’t excited about her food so we decided to order some pasta. Tired and still desiring a good meal she ordered a pasta item with salami. To be clear this is on us, not the server or restaurant. However, an experienced server would have caught the vegetarian discussion from earlier. We picked away the meat and had the pasta which was average. Lastly we ordered dessert with hopes of ending the meal on a high note. Or at least a sugar buzz. lol. We had the tiramisu and cheesecake. The cheesecake was ok but more of a cream cheese mousse than the density of a cheesecake. Tiramisu was acceptable. I hope Momento reads this and takes the actions to up their game. There is serious potential, but server education and a commitment to food are necessary to go to...
Read moreWe had an excellent meal here and Mohammed was super attentive. I had calamari to start which was fresh and really tasty , my friend had prawns to start which were excellent also. We both opted for pasta dishes, pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection and portions were very generous and all dishes were very well presented. A nice touch was the complimentary garlic bread with cheese and complimentary dessert to share , we brought our own wine and with corkage at a reasonable €5 per bottle why wouldn’t you! The only complaint I had was a non discretionary 10% service charge added to our bill which is not pre notified on the menu. As there were only two of us and it was lunchtime (although we did order from the dinner menu)I thought this was a bit much. For the excellent service and complimentary dishes we were going to leave a very generous tip but decided to leave it at the 10% imposed. That said I would recommend and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went there for dinner. The service was friendly and attentive, and the place felt quite elegant. We arrived on a Thursday evening around 9 p.m., and apart from us, there was only one server. I didn’t envy him having to both serve and clear tables.
We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary bottle of water. On the downside, there was only one men’s restroom and the selection of soft drinks was rather limited, so I decided to try a glass of Merlot. I’m used to chilled red wine, but this one was served at room temperature.
It’s worth noting that the prices of meals are not listed on the website, nor is there any mention of drinks. The menu prices might seem on the higher side, but the food was tasty, and we left satisfied. Payment is done in a charming way – presented in a small account book.
I could recommend.
Take care! Greeting...
