Cheap, good Irish breakfast. However, I completely disagree with “friendly service”. If you call being treated like a complete and utter nuisance “friendly”, then, I would say you need to raise your expectations a bit higher. I have lived in Dublin for almost 3 years and have never encountered such disrespect or rudeness at any pub or restaurant. Please do yourself a huge favour if you go here, look at the menu on their wall when you walk in – as there are no menus and if you ask for one after being seated, the owner will become increasingly irritated by you and will not be afraid to talk to you like you are a complete idiot when asking for one. Apparently asking for a menu at a restaurant is a ridiculous request. I’m still not sure if you are supposed to seat yourself or wait to be seated, because again, if you are lucky enough to be greeted by the owner, you probably won’t get much of a hello, welcome, or any sort of acknowledgement that you want to eat there.

After visiting here on a busy Saturday morning, I will never, ever set foot in here again nor recommend it to anyone. Honestly, I really cannot believe that this place can be as busy as it is, because quite honestly, you are treated nicer by staff at McDonalds. From the minute we entered this place, we felt that we were disturbing the staff. We asked if we should wait to be seated and received a smart-ass comment barked back at us by the owner to find a table ourselves. After finding our own seats, which I have no problem with, we asked what we thought was a simple, straightforward question, “what comes in your medium breakfast?” to which the waitress could not answer. She then asks the owner, and we get another rude response with him listing the items as fast as he possibly can and then tells us, sorry, he is trying to remember 7 different orders at the moment, like it’s our fault for him being short with us. Apparently, because he is super busy and doesn’t have enough staff, we are supposed to not feel offended by his short remarks and disinterest in answering our questions. He also makes sure to remind us that the menu is on the wall, even though we already know that but cannot read it from where we are seated and there are no physical menus. At this point, I literally cannot stand to sit there anymore and listen to the owner berate us, so we had no issue getting up, leaving and NEVER returning again.

The attitude and sheer arrogance of the owner is so perplexing. I cannot fathom how this place could have return customers when the owner is so outwardly rude. I know it is based on the cheap prices and location, but I can assure you that I would pay double the price for a breakfast to be treated with dignity and respect. Please do yourself a favour and find yourself a different place to grab breakfast. Trust me, cheap, greasy food is not that hard to find in Dublin. People work hard for their money, and I personally feel that it should be spent at those establishments where our patronage is...

We went to the lovinspoon on a Sunday morning with no reservations. We tried calling, but their phone seem to be wrong or not working. There was a table available. However, we were in 4 and the place is quite small. The table we ate in was a 2 person table. It was a good experience all things considered.

Service: For a small place they were a bit busy. Nonetheless the service was great. They were very friendly and polite. The man behind the counter, that also took our orders, was very courteous. So, good service, dishes served fast but the size of the place was not chosen carefully. My brother kept hitting his elbow on the wall and the table was cluttered.

Food: The food was discreet. Good but nothing outstanding. Not a single dish was bad. It arrived fast. The only propositive feedback here is the coffee. The americano arrived way too hot to be drinked. But a full brunch for under 10 euros is an excellent value for money. Therefore, although discreet, it's miles ahead of its price point. Excellent job with this little money.

Overall, a nice, positive experience. I almost gave it 3 stars, but the very friendly service and even friendlier price has earned the lovinspoon a 4th one. It's just about...

Food was very good quality and great price and portion size. The waitresses were very friendly and efficient except for the main guy behind the counter. It's not a very big cafe but it seemed unnecessarily chaotic and there wasn't really any system. He seemed to just shout orders at the waitress and say snarky remarks. She still kept her cool and continued to do her job. My girlfriend and I spent the time just listening to his carry on. "Lena are you free?" "No I'm not free" "Make yourself free" and then he micromanaged her making toast of all things and was very frustrated and said "I don't know what she's doing" under his breath. This is just two examples. He seemed like an angry man. I've worked in the service industry and this carry on is so unnecessary. He needs to change his attitude. The waitress still carried on with a smile and was pleasant. We won't...

I came here for a quick breakfast spot. Close by the hotel, and I was happy with the decision. It is tiny and quaint. It has outdoor seating. It can be loud, but it's to each one's opinion of what they consider as allowed. It can fill up quickly but is a small, quaint place again. Building, I had the pancakes and bacon, which I did remorsefully since I tried to leave pork alone, but overall, it is an excellent choice for any person who loves pork and pancakes. You have plenty of meat to go with your pancakes. You get 2 pancakes and probably 4 or 5 pieces of bacon, which are more like slices of Cooked ham. I wasn't. I'm mad at it, but I obviously could not eat all of the slices of bacon given to me. Oh my God, reservations about pork, they have other choices. Depending on what they are, your preference may be Irish foods. French foods, et cetera.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning after seeing great reviews. It was busy when we arrived but we managed to get a table very quickly. There was a nice buzzy atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. We both ordered 'The Big One' full Irish breakfast to set us up for a day exploring Dublin. The ingredients were fantastic quality, especially the sausages, and the €11.50 price was well worth it - it was certainly big! I ordered mine without beans and they served an extra egg which was a nice touch. It was easily the best fry up we have had. Tea/coffee was extra but again, good quality. Definitely worth a visit.
