I had high hopes for Wood Fire Café, especially with the promise of wood-fired pizza, but sadly, this visit was far from impressive.
Let’s start with the service - it was shockingly poor. After being seated, we waited for over 10 minutes without so much as a menu, bread, or drinks. When we asked about the bread and olives that were served to other tables, the manager stepped in, dismissing us completely. He curtly told us it wasn’t part of the service, despite it being offered to everyone else. We asked to order it, but it never arrived. There’s no excuse for that kind of disregard for customers.
As Ashley Chow put it in her review: “The worst place I have ever been. Not recommended. Very dirty, and the middle-aged man who is working there is very unprofessional. He was very rude to the staff and yelling at them. So disappointed with this place.”
This manager’s behavior was not only rude but also incredibly unprofessional. He was seen yelling at the staff, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone.
As for the pizza - it was a letdown. A wood-fired pizza should have a crisp, slightly charred crust, with toppings that sing in harmony. But this was soggy, cold, and lacked the depth of flavor you’d expect. The dough wasn’t properly cooked, and the cheese? Barely a whisper. It was more like a sad pile of ingredients than anything close to a pizza.
Throughout the meal, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were unwelcome. The manager made us feel like a burden, and even the server seemed uneasy, likely because of his treatment. It’s clear this café has some serious issues when it comes to customer care.
Wood Fire Café has potential, but with poor service, an unprofessional manager, and subpar food, it’s a hard one to recommend. Hopefully, they take a long, hard look at their approach and turn...

Our visit to this pizzeria in Dublin was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered two different pizzas, each with an extra topping. When the pizzas arrived, it was clear that the toppings had been swapped between the two. We politely pointed this out to the waitress, who quickly took the pizzas back to the kitchen.
However, less than 30 seconds later, the same pizzas were returned to us, and it was obvious they had simply taken the toppings from one pizza and manually transferred them to the other. This was not only unprofessional but also highly concerning given potential allergies and contamination risks. One pizza was meant to be white, without tomato sauce, and the other red. My wife, who ordered the white pizza, ended up with a pizza covered in tomato sauce and incorrect toppings. I, on the other hand, received a pizza with ham instead of the salami I had ordered. Clearly, in the process of switching the toppings by hand, they mistakenly left ham on my pizza.
When we pointed this out again, we were met with a simple apology but no solution. No consideration at all for the fact that such careless handling could have serious implications for people with food sensitivities.
To make matters worse, the full cost – including the extra toppings they messed up – was on the bill, and there was no offer of a discount or any gesture of goodwill for a future visit.
In short, this place is highly unprofessional and completely disregards basic customer service and food handling standards. If you're looking for good pizza, do yourself a favor and...
Read moreWe used to like this place in Blessingtin Street and were regulars there. But recently on two occasions have received very bad service. On the first occasion the waitress asked us to leave after 40 minutes. She didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert. I hadn’t finished my drink yet. Fair enough, we hadn’t made a reservation but they should have advised us we would have limited time at the table. Also, both our pizzas were burnt on the bottom. We thought it was a once off and decided to go back 3 days later. We were shown to a nice table and the waiter was nice and attentive. My salad was too salty but I decided not to make a big deal out of it. I mixed it with my pasta and it was edible. After our dinner we asked for dessert menu (after about 40 minutes). At the same time some important guests arrived and the waiter asked us to swith tables. At first we said ok thinking maybe they need our table for a larger group. They did join 2 tables together so it all seemed fine but then sat the 2 “important” guests at that double table made out of our initial table and an extra table. Our new table wasn’t nearly as nice, with the draft. Again, if they had told us upfront that we would have limited time at the table we would have been fine with it. But they failed to do so twice in a row?! We decided to pay for dinner and had our dessert somewhere else. Not sure if we’re be going back there having experienced such bad service on 2 separate...
