I was a bit disappointed with the Gate Theatre this evening. We had bought tickets for A Christmas Carol costing 53 euros for 2 people. We were in row HH. The theatre seating was reconfigured for this production. Im afraid this did not work for us very well at all. We couldnt see well because we were on the same level as the people in front whilst most other rows were raised one step above the one below. My husband kept having to move his head back and forth to see the stage. We realised immediately and tried to leave before the performance began and get a refund. The Gate Theatre Dublin is a truly special venue that blends history with a strong tradition of world-class performances. Unlike larger theatres, it offers an intimate and personal atmosphere, making you feel closely connected to the stage and the actors.

Known for its high-quality productions and innovative direction, the Gate consistently delivers performances that stay with you long after the curtain falls. A perfect place for anyone who loves theatre with both depth...

I would recommend contacting the staff before you attend if you have additional needs. I spoke to a member of staff and this was their recommendation. There is a more accessible entrance and lift, but it's at the rear of the building.
If you need to leave during a show you can not come back in till intermission. The chairs are traditional, hard and small and may be uncomfortable or difficult to access for some people.
Again there may be more accessible seating, but I would recommend contacting the theatre...
