Spice n Rice — Restaurant in Dublin

One evening heavily pregnant I'm fed up and starting to doubt baby has any intention of meeting me at all. I think about the advice to have a spicy curry and Google "Dublin's hottest curry", go hard or go home I think & wouldn't you know it's just down the road! I order the Phall despite it's warning - my body is ready! I thought curries peaked at vindaloo so the mystery of this new extra hot curry had both my curiosity and the fear of my "korma palate" in it's grasp. (I also ordered a large yogurt portion to save my tongue) The curry arrived. It didn't disappoint. Spicy. My god, I was sweating immediately! But also it tasted delicious underneath the heat that caused me to wrap my tongue in yougurt after every bite. The garlic chili naan are top notch too! That night I thought my tummy was angry with me for putting so much spice in there. The next day my tummy continued to hurt but now I realised it had a pattern! That night things picked up pace & ended up that I went to the hospital and had my baby! The curry worked! It actually worked! Thanks guys! I plan to try it again but in the meantime maybe I'll see how the vindaloo...

I was introduced to India food by my beautiful wife as she lived in the UK for many years she was accustomed to eating a nice Indian curry I myself never ate Indian food till almost 20 odd years ago when my wife asked would I like to try an Indian I was reluctant to be honest but hey let's try what.. I was hooked on Indian food from that moment on and we never eat Indian food from anywhere else other than Spice and Rice Dorset St and after 20 year's it's still the best Indian take away in Dublin in my humble opinion 😋😋 I must say since the new owner took the shop over its got even better it's a fantastic take away with fantastic food and always served with a smile The staff are always friendly and helpful and the service is excellent I would recommend you try the food you won't be disappointed believe me Gerry and I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for their service and especially in recent times Thanks so...

Very disappointed with Spice n Rice. I used to be a customer but recently it is just going downhill. Last couple of times we were not happy with the food or the service. And I just kept telling myself that I will give them one more chance... again and again. Well I can say now that they lost a customer. The food? Biryani, the rice tasted like a week old. Naan bread, like a rubber. The chicken kebab is literally soaked in grease, I mean literally a layer of grease. And the service, let's just say there is always something disappointing. Every single time they either forget the drinks, or they bring a wrong drink. Waiting time? Over an hour for a delivery. This time I was waiting for one and half hour. Mid week. And I had to call twice. You would expect them telling you in advance, that it might take longer if they are busy. No luck there. I give them two stars, only because they used to be good.
