This review is for the townhouse. The room is only not for the restaurant. The rooms here at the Lombard seemed to be a mixed bag. My family was broken up into two rooms while 1/2 of the family had an excellent room, great comfortable bedsheets great shower I am the other hand got stuck in a room where water dripped from the ceiling and down the walls whenever someone above me took a shower. The only way to reach anyone in the establishment was to wait until the pub below opened and since we checked out early in the morning, there is no way to contact or talk to anyone about this incident I tried two separate email addresses to reach the Lombard about the water situation and the soap floor, including the electrical hazard for the room considering water came out of the ceiling light just a note saying they will get their technician to look at. It was all the response no compensation for the room nothing. The only benefit here with the townhouse is its close proximity to the college and a few other things otherwise it was a bare basics room.

Well, the worst chowder I ve seen In Dublin. That is how it looks like on the menu and how it looks in your plate. I wont even say that there are no shrimps or mussels, but it look like somebody already have eaten it.. Few spoons of mashed potatoes, sliced baby potatoes, carrots and tiny bits of salmon. And this "dish" costs 15 euros.. Staff throwing spoons on dirty tables, not apologizing for delays...Won't recommend this place and definitely won't visit any more

After a heavy Saturday night crept in here late afternoon for some comfort food. Staff were lovely and let us sit wherever we wanted despite sign directing us to only one designated area. We had the Guinness and beef stew and the bangers and mash. Both gorgeous dishes and just what we needed. Thank you! Hope to come again next time we're in Dublin and try some of the gins!!

This review is for the townhouse. The room only - not for the restaurant.||||The rooms here at the Lombard seemed to be a mixed bag. My family was broken up into two rooms while 1/2 of the family had an excellent room, great comfortable bedsheets great shower I am the other hand got stuck in a room where water dripped from the ceiling and down the walls whenever someone above me took a shower. ||||The only way to reach anyone in the establishment was to wait until the pub below opened and since we checked out early in the morning, there is no way to contact or talk to anyone about this incident. The water from the ceiling drench anything I had in the bathroom which included my toothbrush and other toiletries. I had to use all the towels provided to mop up all the water on the floor because it was just a big puddle. ||||I tried two separate email addresses to reach the Lombard about the water situation and the wet floor, including the electrical hazard for the room considering water came out of the ceiling light. I was left with an email saying they will get their technician to look at. No compensation for the room, nothing.||||The only benefit here with the townhouse is its close proximity to the college and a few other things otherwise it was a bare basics room.||||As this is above a pub, expect many rowdy guests and plenty of those hen party drinking bicycle tours to stop buy. Randomly though, everything quieted down by 10pm. Free wi-fi was advertised but as we, and other guests figured out, the wi-fi was best in the stairwell and had a number of guests camped out on their computers to do work. ||||If you are all about cheap and the location is where you need it - it fits the bill. Personally I found it unsanitary and an electrical hazard...

Bad experience. Ordered a salad from the Starter menu (€6.95) but asked if I could get large portion - they said they could do a larger portion for me.

It was a small dinner plate, flat salad with 3 ingredients - leaves, red onion, chorizo. I thought they had made a mistake and just given me the starter amount of salad.

When I went to pay - my colleagues paid before me so at the end I had my card in my hand and she reached over the bar and said 'you are all that's left' cheerfully and charged my card by tap & pay. I waited there afterwards and had to ask for the receipt because she never said how much it would cost, she looked at me as if i was causing hassle by requesting the receipt.... €12! What an absolute joke - i was so hungry afterwards that I bought a large salad from a cafe for €5.50 and ate it all (double the size of their salad)

I turned around to the waitress and the bar man who were both behind the bar and gave them a chance to charge less but they just handed me a card and said if I have a complaint, contact their head office.

I don't actually mind about the money, its the principal. My colleagues all had full lunches and I was left hungry having paid far more than they did.

There was supposed to be tomatoes in it too according to the menu but no sign of them.

Expect to be ripped off at the Lombard Pub and Townhouse and you...
