The first thing you notice about O'Connor's Famous Singing Pub is the really strange dƩcor. You could be in Bunratty Castle Folk Park there are so many examples of amazing old & ancient appliances from farm machinery and kitchen equipment from a bygone age. There is an excellent example of a traditional turf fire with all the equipment to cook for a household with pots for making tea and pots for baking bread and pots for boiling feed for the chickens and all these pots suspended over an open fire with traditional iron cranes covered in black lead to make them look smart. The live music at O'Connor's is what you will remember and you will tell stories to your family and friends about when you get home. Brian Nolan the Galway City Tour Guide does a highly acclaimed fifty foot tour of O'Connor's Bar. Don't miss it. O'Connor's Bar features prominently in Ed Sheeran's video of his hit single Galway Girl. It is a must visit on any...

My girlfriend and I stumbled into O’Connor’s Famous Pub in Salthill, Galway - and wow, what a stroke of luck! The moment we walked in, we felt like we’d entered a museum slash time capsule packed with quirky antiques, fairy lights, farm tools, and a John Wayne statue casually hanging out on the wall. It’s wild, unique, utterly charming, and memorable in the best way.

Live Irish music started just as we settled in - atmosphere instantly elevated. The place is full of craic, top-notch vibes, and a genuine sense of community. The Guinness? Perfect as always in Ireland, smooth, rich, the ideal pint.

Trust me, this pub is ā€œfamousā€ for a reason. It’s more than a night out, it’s a proper Galway experience....

One of the most unforgettable pubs I’ve ever visited! O’Connor’s in Salthill isn’t just a pub — it’s a full-on experience. The atmosphere is pure magic: think low lighting, walls covered in antiques, fairy lights hanging from the ceiling, and live traditional Irish music that brings the whole place to life.

The Guinness is poured to perfection, and the staff are some of the friendliest you’ll meet in Ireland — full of stories, smiles, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re there for a quiet pint or a lively night of music and craic, this place delivers every time.

A must-visit if you’re anywhere near Galway. I’d come back in...
