Review of lunch at Sentaku Izakaya on 19.10.2024. On October 17th, I tried to contact Sentaku Izakaya via email to reserve a table for lunch, as reservations on their website are only available for dinner. Dinner wasn’t an option for us because it was my close friend’s birthday, and we had specifically traveled to Bologna for the day, spending hours on the road just to visit this restaurant. They replied to the email, instructing us to message them on WhatsApp, but no one ever responded there. We took a chance and decided to go without a reservation. Lunch was supposed to start at 12:30, according to the schedule. When we arrived at opening time, nothing was ready. The waitstaff were hurriedly arranging chairs, and nobody acknowledged us when we asked if they were open. We were very unwelcomingly told to go take a walk for 10-15 minutes. When we returned after that time, the tables still hadn’t been wiped down, and we continued to wait until someone invited us to sit. That never happened, so we asked ourselves. At that time, there was only one table occupied in the entire restaurant. We finally sat down at 12:50, and the menu was brought to us about 10 minutes later, but they forgot the drinks menu. After placing our order, I went to the restroom. Despite the restaurant having just opened, there was no soap, but the real shocker was the lock on the door—if pulled a little too hard, it simply opens. So while I was washing my hands, a random man walked in on me. That’s strange. As I mentioned, there was no soap, and they didn’t offer any wet wipes, but we had some with us. By 1:15, not even the lemonade we had ordered had been served, and all the tables around us were now full. At 1:28, after 40 minutes, they brought us the first of four dishes we ordered—fish carpaccio. While I ate, my companion had nothing, apparently just expected to watch me eat. I don’t understand why they only brought one dish, especially since we mentioned that we wouldn’t be sharing, and each person had their own order. By 1:45, everyone around us was eating, while our table was still empty. We hadn’t ordered anything particularly complicated: fish carpaccio, vegetables, and sandwiches. These are appetizers, not a slow-cooked dish that takes hours to prepare. I went to the waiter, because no one was checking on us, and I asked why people who arrived after us had already finished their meals, while we were still waiting… for a sandwich? There was no response. I then said I wanted to pay for the lemonade and carpaccio and leave, as it was my friend’s birthday, and waiting an hour for a sandwich seemed unreasonable. At that moment, they brought all three remaining dishes at once. The hot appetizers were somehow almost cold, but we didn’t argue; we just wanted to finish up and leave as quickly as possible. I don’t understand how this place has a 4.7 rating and all these glowing reviews. The appetizers here: a) are not worth the hours of waiting, b) are overpriced, and c) have nothing to do with Japan, where I had just returned from a week ago. So, think twice before going to a place that is completely indifferent to its customers. Upd: less than 20 minutes after publication, the manager wrote to me. it's funny considering that they don't respond to requests, and here they found me themselves. but it's very sad that the manager, instead of somehow analyzing the situation, simply offered money, and in response began to claim that we were lying and arrived before the allotted time. I'm attaching the correspondence so that you understand who you're dealing with

Pubblciitá sui social super invitante dobbiamo provarlo.
